start with 5 and let them compete

5 top rated QB's are not going to stay on one team in 2021. Having said that, I think if we have a close QB battle next year between Max and Nuss, whoever doesn't win the job will transfer. Howard is that good and he will start his sophomore year imo.

I think you're misunderstanding my post. I was talking about 5 QBs in the off season with the goal of having 3 on the roster during the season.

Why does LSU need another QB?

Wasn't Nussmier a high 4 star and Howard a 5 star?

Yeah but 2 scholarship quarterbacks is not enough. We need at least 3.

Adding QBs to the roster increases the competition level and chances that the ones that stay are the best ones.

We’ll, that is why I said that you hope he’s better than the one that transferred in this situation

And I was referring to the “we need depth” post, since it doesn’t necessarily help with depth.

Of course, it also depends on whether Miller fits the system that Kelly runs

I think you edited to add that after I started my reply.

I agree with you.

We have 3. You forgot Max Johnson, whether you like him or not.

I think Howard signs with the good guys, but Miller would be good to have on board should anything happen with that.

Don’t want Ohio States 4th best QB. He was behind Stroud, McCord, and Ewers headed into next season that’s why he’s left. We don’t need a transfer QB unless they’re elite like Ewers. If you want a vet starter year 1 just get Myles to stay he’s better than Miller.

What happens if we don't add another and lose one of the three on the roster to transfer before the season starts?

If you can add a QB to the room, you do it. Let the competition begin and see how it shakes out

Wonder if Ewers transfers out if he doesn't decided to stay...
