Maci Bergeron committed to LSU this weekend over OU. She is currently rated among the top 5 players of the entire class. She is the full package. Elite defensively and offensively. She already was recruited heavily by OU, Florida, Alabama, UCLA, A&M, Oregon

All of those teams have significant interest in her, she is the real deal.

YES.... she is 2022 class. Florida, OU, UCLA and everyone else already have commits this early....

Not our fault we have to play it this way, everyone else does it too.

I feel like this thread won't end well.... be nice

So you made a commitment thread about somebody that's not committed. Nice!

Hold that Tiger!!

Have these softball players developed their skill set enough before they even play in high school to really project their skill level four years later? It seems if this continues we may end up with schools backing off some early commitments if the players games don't evolve as they go through high school.

Its time for the NCAA to crack down on this. Kids haven't even attended a day of high school yet and they are already supposed to choose their college? Thats a load of crap. Should have to be a sophomore or 16 years old before you can commit to anywhere.

There are some new restrictions regarding when the coaches can initiate contact. I believe they cannot make contact until their junior year. Its somewhat complicated , but the athletes can initiate contact with the coaches. There are some ways to get around the regulations apparently. Gymnastics may be the most affected as they usually get commits at 14 to 15.

I agree it's crazy but we have no choice but to do this today if you want the top prospects. Usually commits this early are from the elite ones, a lot of times the players are the ones initiating it
