This recruiting class is nothing short of what Beth is doing at LSU, another top ten class, should be top 5 after recruiting rankings are over. We still have another target or two that are top 50 prospects as well. These players continue to grow every year and is receiving a lot of national attention.

Cristiona Caccamise- Top 50 player out of California- Plays catcher but can play in the infield. Hit right about under .500 her freshman year. Has a lot of power, projected to hit over 10 homeruns every year here. Considered one of the best catchers in the entire country. The entire PAC 12 was all over her too. She choose LSU because she fell in love with the staff and believes she can win a championship here.

Kara Goff- In state player here, plays OF. Multisport athlete. Played with Claire Weinberger on travel team here. Very underrated player. She lots of speed and good at getting on base. She has offers from man SEC schools and some Big 12 Schools

Taryn Antoine- Immediate Impact Player! Considered a top 20 player a lot of places. Plays for Wichita Mustangs. Deadly speed but has a lot of power. Considered a power slapper. She will likely set records in the weightroom here for this program. She can play infield as well.
LINK

Shelby Sunseri- Top 100 player out of Texas. Another Elite pitcher here. Strikeout machine would be a good nickname. Very good drop ball, changeup is very good as well. She has offers from UF, UT, A&M, UCLA, California.

Alyssa Martinez- Top 50 player, elite short stop. Considered one of the best defensive players in the country. She is smooth and comfortable anywhere on the infield. At the plate, she is pretty explosive. Hits for high average and has pop in her bat.

Talent won't ever be a problem here at LSU with Beth here. Pitching also will always be elite. Defense should be better in the coming years as well

Offensively, you will see more power as well. Nothing against what we have now but these recent classes have much more power. After a couple of recruiting cycles, Beth made it a priority to have much more power.

It is a shift in recruiting philosophy that she made here that should help. I've always said give me a couple great pitchers, a great lineup with the bats, and I'll take average defense (not that that is what we have in terms of defense). A great pitcher will make an average defense look great far more than a great defense will make an average pitcher look great. And there is simply no substitute for having good sticks in softball. Won't do you much good to hold the other team to 1-2 runs with great D if you can't score.

We will always have a top ten pitching staff, hitting will also always be good with Dobson here as well.

Big Time Torina!!! That is incredible news and based on this statement above and the girl just signed in the 2016 class, we could very well have two of the strongest girls in program history. The strength and speed of the one below is off of the charts so if Taryn is on this level we will all be smiling the next few years!

Best Athlete in Softball?

I have seen Martinez play a few times and her question mark is her bat more than anything.

Dobson is a stud. Hope we can keep him for the long haul but why someone wouldn't hire that guy as a head coach is beyond me. His resume and the results he gets is as good as any.

When does softball start? I am thinking that might be the only sport that we can truly cheer about for this fiscal year.

That's a huge bill to live up to. Hope the kid succeeds.

How about a link to the LSU softball season preview on the bottom of that page?

It is quite an article. I have seen this kid over the last few years and have been baffled as to why she wasn't receiving national exposure. She is absolutely and unquestionably the best female athlete I have seen and she deserves the accolades and exposure. LSU just signed a great class with her being the centerpiece.

The good news is, she doesn't have anything to live up to. She is a great, gifted athlete and we all know that athleticism doesn't always translate to success between the lines. The thing is, when you are this physically gifted it is easier to overcome certain obstacles and succeed so she may be starting at a point ahead of some of her classmates.

Here is the link LSU Softball Preview but I am not certain if you can read it without membership.

Geaux Tigers!!!!!!!

Nicky Dawson will be a big time player here at LSU. The 2016 class will make an immediate impact. We will be a top ten program over the next 3-4 years
