Kyle Morlock has offers from plenty of P5 schools — Tenn, FSU, NC State and now LSU

In the 2022 season for Shorter, Morlock hauled in 30 receptions for 446 receiving yards and six touchdowns. Over the past two seasons, he totaled 51 catches for 808 yards and 11 scores.

Development isn’t linear

I'm aware. But talent like that doesn't usually develop that late at place like Shorter. Especially if he's done it since his freshman year.

Not usually, but it Div II does produce nfl players. Maybe you have heard of Austin ekler or Matthew judon.

The more advanced Nfl scouting gets(internet, college all star game growth, combine growth, etc), the more these guys start popping up every year.

My only concern is his foot speed… everything else is legit (hands catcher, tough and doesn’t mind getting dirty) anyone have a 3 cone or 40 yd time on him?

With these offers, I'm going to guess he has at least average speed.

With Kelly’s history at TE development, why wouldn’t he come to LSU?
Kelly talks about a Coach on the staff. Terry Malone, he’s the guy that has mentored our TE’s, helped with their development. Malone’s title is Senior Offensive Analyst (TE).
To make note, he spent 9 years coaching TE’s with the Saints.

“Originally going to the New England Patriots, Malone was hired away by Sean Payton, and became a part of his coaching staff in 2006 and helped the Saints capture their lone Super Bowl title in 2009. He left after the 2014 season.”

Kelly has put together a great support staff. Malone is one for sure.
