I am a big believer in Myles Brennan at quarterback. I think he's a scrappy competitor with a live arm and tons of production behind him. Following LSU's offer to Tua Tagovailoa and new head coach Ed Orgeron's public statements that he wants mobile quarterbacks, Brennan has backed out of his LSU pledge.

LSU, a school that has been plagued by quarterback struggles through Les Miles' tenure effectively sent a four-star Elite 11 quarterback packing within one week of Orgeron's reign.

And I think it's a smart move.

To be clear I think Brennan could have been a very good quarterback at LSU, maybe even a great one. I think in a more spread, pass-first offense like the one he plays in on the high school level, he's a lock to be a success somewhere (I've made a Crystal Ball prediction for Oklahoma State).

well considering we are looking to be a more spread offense team.....

Are we? Does anyone actually know what O wants to do? He's said he wants a pro style 2000s USC offense and he's said we should go spread.

when we are pro, we couldn't find a good pro qb and tried to plug in mediocre duals.

now that we got the top pro, we're going to say frick it, get rid of the pro and go after another mediocre dual crap frick shite stick.

Foresight is one of the worst ways to describe this situation.

So the spin for this is now "Well, Miles and Cameron recruited him to LSU so he obviously sucks."

Awesome

So O wants to let coordinators do their thing

But he also wants to go spread

He also essentially tells a QB to kick rocks before landing a coordinator

This is fine

Obviously he'll rely on his quality head coaching experience and offensive expertise...

Just when I thought there would be a break from LSU fans melting this happens.

I'm gonna wait and see what happens first with this situation before I unleash mine upon the rant.

Having a brain is the most important part of being a elite QB. Being a dual threat is an overrated QB requirement.

then it'll be too late to melt, so you might as well do it now.

I hate that guy, but he has a point. With Miles and Cam gone we will finally get some clear direction on QB recruiting. Its like Miles' philosophy was get one of each and run which ever Offense suited the one that was better. We were likely going to lose one of the two guys we had committed. It was just which one.

Well we have had ones with "half" a brain - Harris comes to mind - how did that work out for us!!!!

I know this much, I can promise you Etling "got into Purdue" is much smarter than Harris and he is starting over Harris and there is no way you can tell me that Etling is more athletic than Harris or has a better arm than Harris.
