LSU Targets

Commits

In the final five-star release on Tuesday, safety JaCoby Stevens was the highest-ranked Tiger at No. 23 overall. That was up one spot from his previous ranking.

Grant Delpit held on to his 97 rating but fell from No. 26 to No. 41 overall and from No. 3 to No. 4 at his position.

Tyler Shelvin came in next at No. 76 overall and No. 7 amongst defensive tackles. His rating of 95 held steady and he saw a drop of 13 spots overall and two slots at his position.

Cornerback commit Kary Vincent had a huge jump from No. 175 overall to No. 82. He also moved up nine spots at his position from No. 19 to No. 10 in the nation.

Austin Deculus rounded out the Tigers in the top 100 at No. 91. He saw a minor drop from the No. 10 offensive tackle to No. 13.

Myles Brennan moved up a spot to the No. 4 pro-style quarterback in the land and jumped 23 spots to No. 112 overall.

Edward Ingram rounded out LSU guys in the Top247 at No. 234 overall. He went from the No. 11 offensive guard in the country to No. 10.

Targets

Houston outside linebacker target K’Lavon Chaisson moved up from No. 90 overall to the No. 11 prospect in the country, making him a five-star. He’s down to LSU and Texas as his finalists.

Louisiana wide receiver Devonta Smith dropped from No. 14 to No. 29 overall, remaining a five-star. He just visited LSU and FSU and now has visits set to Alabama and Miami.

Marvin Wilson dropped from No. 12 to No. 31, remaining a five-star on 247Sports. Wilson visited LSU this past weekend and will visit South Florida this weekend. FSU and LSU are considered the two frontrunners.

Mississippi linebacker Willie Gay shot up from No. 51 to No. 33, missing a five-star ranking by one spot. He will make his official visit to LSU this weekend after visiting Mississippi State this past weekend.

Tennessee linebacker Jacob Phillips made a big leap, going from No. 234 all the way up to No. 46 in the country. The Oklahoma commitment is set to make an unofficial visit to LSU this weekend.

Baton Rouge linebacker Christopher Allen moved from No. 111 overall to No. 57 overall. The Alabama commitment made his official visit to LSU this past weekend and will make an official visit to Tuscaloosa this weekend.

Louisiana safety Todd Harris moved from No. 78 overall to No. 84 overall, finishing out his high school campaign as a Top 100 prospect. Harris is coming off an official visit to LSU and visits Alabama this weekend.

Louisiana defensive lineman Phidarian Mathis went from outside the Top247 up to No. 197 overall. He made an official visit to LSU this past weekend and will head to Alabama this weekend.

Alabama wide receiver Nico Collins went from No. 158 overall to the No. 200 prospect in the rankings. Collins remains a top target for LSU despite many believing Georgia has a sizable lead for his signature. Collins made an official visit to LSU in December and returned to Baton Rouge for an unofficial visit this past weekend.

Georgia defensive end Markaviest Bryant went from No. 169 overall to No. 232 overall, finishing inside the Top247. Bryant will make his official visit to LSU this weekend after visiting Georgia last weekend.

Louisiana running back Travis Etienne moved up one spot from No. 244 to No. 243. He will visit Clemson this weekend before visiting LSU on the final weekend before National Signing Day.

Georgia and Alabama tied for the most picks in the Top247 from the SEC with 15 each, while LSU and Auburn tied for the second-most with seven a piece.

If Kirby can coach at all, UGA is going to be a playoff contender in 2018.

Nah. UGA just had a ton of guys play in the Army All American game. These rankings are just for the sites to pimp the guys who chose their all star game.
