And I'm also 100% sure that you and tdeucen do not actually follow the recruiting cycle but have jumped on the bandwagon to criticize.

Well if by that you mean create a twitter to stalk these kids, facebook to follow them, or pay for bogus information then no I don't follow recruiting.

As usual, you would be wrong.

No way in hell. That makes no sense. Hell, Barry Sanders wasn't worth three other elite players.

For LSU in this class, it does make sense. We have elite talent coming in at other positions already, but without LF, we are completely screwed at running back.

Well then you must not be following correctly if you are labeling this class a mixed bag.

I mean really?

This isn't even a defense of coaches which you are sensitive about, It's a defense of the awesome class of players lsu will be getting this year.

Nah, LSU would plug someone else in at RB. No skill position player (except QB, possibly) is worth multiple elite position players.

LF is awesome, but you'll need a good O'line to block for him and a good defense to keep the other guys from scoring, or he's just getting individual honors.

I agree with you. Unless the super 5star is a QB, I'd rather 4 regular 5stars. RBs get hurt often, are replaceable at LSU, and he won't stay more than the minimum anyway before going to the NFL. I'm thrilled to get LF, but LSU needs LBs, OL, and DL more than RBs.

It is always HUGE to grab the #1 player overall in recruiting, how is LF any different that the previous ones?

Eh...this is a disingenuous argument. Yes LF is the #1 recruit but some classes are stronger than others. The players at the top of a stronger class can be much better in some cases than previous classes.

It's like saying the #1 HS player in the nation is comparable in talent to Lebron James since he was also the #1 HS player at one point. By all accounts LF is the best RB prospect to come out since Adrian Peterson so that is meaningful and cannot be understated.

That's one thing 247 does right, weighted averages. Recruiting evalutions should include a weighted average to demonstrate a recruit's true value relative to years' past.

Maybe but in football like baseball, one player can not change the complexion of a team like basketball and Lebron. LF if he comes out and produces like everyone here believes can become an important piece with all of the talent LSU has already assembled though.
