Scott has some good film but Shepard's was godly. RS literally has one of the most impressive highlight tapes I've ever seen.. The guy was a one man offensive machine. While he might not have made for a fit in our pro style system, he made some damn good throws in high school and would have been an absolute stud in the spread. I have the same feeling about Scott... If we slowly transition to more spread based concepts I think he has a chance to succeed. Admittedly, the Kyler Murray experiment at Aggy makes me a bit weary of small quarterbacks who dominated high school but Lindsey is his own man..

Lindsey Scott Highlights: LINK Given the right system I think he can be very effective

Russell Shepard highlights for your viewing pleasure... Some of the best tape I've ever seen. LINK

All those runs were pretty but Shep's arm was weak as hell.

Exactly my point in the other thread. Don't think Russell was considered a SEC QB. However, he was/is an elite athlete.

I disagree. While he might not have had an NFL arm, some of those throws were made with a lot of zip and accuracy at some pretty decent distances. Put him in the right system and he would have flourished

Lindsey is a hard-working intellectual QB, who also have strong athletic skills. Yes, his height gives all a valid reason to be reserved, but his work ethic and elusiveness make him a contender to be just what the Dr ordered for LSU football.

Sheps highlights were great, just pointing out though LSU has had plenty of players that looked great at qb in hs and excelled at another position here. I dont think shep was really that great of a passer and not better than the plethora of athletes LSU had. Guys like Randle, Claiborne, Magee, Ware.

I know the coaches have said they might move towards more spread, but Scott's coach says he practices from under center a lot. The kid will be fine.

Russell Shepard was never going to be a QB. Watched him in person many times and he was not a good passer. He is a great runner.

Scott has great instincts. He can run and when he learns to throw on a three count, he'll be hard to stop. It didn't hurt that he had really good receivers.

False. Shep out ran everyone in highschool. Not sure how anyone can watch that and say he was a good passer by today's standards. You say shep's tape is godly but have you looked at his production vs Scotts? Scotts numbers are much better. Ran for more. Passed for more. It's not even close. Scott can really operate from the QB position. Does so much more than Shep ever did or was asked to do. I don't mean to be a prick but I'm not sure how anyone can compare the two. Fun to watch Shep make tecmo bowl runs but it's like comparing a wr or RB highlights to QB highlights.

Shep is on my all time favorite Tigers team , not so much for his on field accomplishments but just a class guy that was out recruiting for us.
Hope Scott makes us as proud.

Shep ran the ball more than he threw it. I knew he would never be an SEC QB

Everyone who knows anything about recruiting, anything at all, knew RS did not have an arm to be a QB in college. You should stick to the rant.
