Liking our chances w/ Tyler Steen

Been following Tyler Steen's recruitment the last few months (primarily by way of articles published by A. Ivins & others), and I'm optimistic about our chances with this kid for the following reasons:
Numerous connections btwn. Steen & LSU, including:
-->Corey Phillips & Cortez Hankton (recruited him to Vandy, now @ LSU),
-->Marlon Martinez & Marcus Dumervil (HS teammates @ St. Thomas Acq., now @ LSU),
-->Several family members reside in BR & NOLA, and two (2) cousins are recent LSU grads.
BK's track-record developing O-Lineman & ability to sell his plan for development:
-->Steen's father has given several interviews recently, and he was inevitably asked about what his son values most in deciding where to transfer - offering two (2) quotes on the matter, as follows:
(i) "Player development will play a key factor in the decision-making process", and
(ii) "Tyler's just looking for the right coach that can take him to the next level"
-->Translation - Steen will transfer to the program w/ a coaching staff that can elevate his development as an O-Lineman & maximize his draft stock as an NFL prospect.
-->IMO, BK will make a compelling pitch that he and Brad Davis are precisely the coaches that can deliver the results sought by Steen - as BK places a heavy emphasis on player development, and he has a successful track-record of sending O-Lineman to the league.
Reasonable path to immediate playing time exists:
-->Four (4) of the five (5) starting O-Lineman from LSU's 2021 unit have either declared for the NFL draft or exhausted their eligibility,
-->Furthermore, the completely overhauled staff likely means that everyone will have to earn a starting spot, regardless of position, seniority, or profile,
-->With 30+ starts to his credit, Steen would immediately become the most experienced O-Lineman on LSU's roster, and
-->Being a position versatile LT/RT, Tyler Steen could easily earn a starting spot on LSU's 2022 O-Line.
Tyler Steen fits the mold of a txfr. portal target preferred by BK:
-->He's a smart, self-disciplined kid (evidenced by the fact that he's already earned his undergrad. degree),
-->He's clearly motivated to continue developing as a student (pursuing masters degree) & a football player (which makes for an ideal role model and potential team leader), and
-->Steen has extensive SEC experience.
NIL opportunities likely available if he were to sign w/ LSU:
-->Similar situation to Miles Frazier, who received an NIL deal w/ Gordon soon after arriving to campus.
---------------------------------------------------
CONCLUSION - Tyler Steen has the experience, mental makeup, and physical traits consistent with other txfr. portal signees. Seeing as how Steen is an offensive tackle (OT) - I'm of the opinion that BK and B. Davis will go all-in on their push for the Vanderbilt transfer, and I like our chances of ultimately signing the 4* tackle out of South Florida.
OV to LSU: 3/10/22 - 3/12/22
OV to Bama: 3/25/22 - 3/26/22

Haha, I don't take the DVs personally. There are a $hit-ton of jackasses on this board, so it's not surprising.
But, thanks for your kind words. Much appreciated & glad you appreciate the write-up. Cheers, brotha!!

Great write up. You can never have enough quality OL, especially one’s with SEC experience.

Exactly, that was a great summary to start this thread. CBK and staff are making the hard pitch and he would certainly start day 1 at LSU.....but he can also do so at that other school, which has a more talented 2022 roster.
No other way to say it. NIL $ will also get a vote.
Hope the good guys bring him home.

I know how you feel, astonvilla.
I hate when Bama has the last visit as well.
However, I'm choosing to remain optimistic (for now), as I'm hoping BK & Brad Davis knock it out of the park this weekend. So much so, maybe they can convince Steen to shut things down.
It's worth noting that Steen's father recently reported that recruiting was becoming an exhausting process (they've visited Tennessee, NC State, UVA, Penn St., & LSU during the last 2 months). He was even quoted as saying, "We are ready to end all of this."
Bottom Line for me - LSU sits in a pretty good spot, and it looks like they'll be a contender down to the wire. Here's to hoping BK & Brad Davis can close this out for the good guys!!

His brother is at UVA - they are definitely in it. Bama is in it and so are we.
March 31 cannot come quick enough.

Bama routinely has a transfer guy starting on the OL. He’d be a huge get for Kelly beating out Saban.

hope so man
he may also want to play LT and we already have Frazier committed while BAMA has a spot open for LT. that my count against us

WRs too and they cleaned our clock recruiting our best this year.

BAMA pushing hard for Steen. It's looking like they've had a few misses in their offensive line recruiting recently. They offered him 2 different nil deals that him and his dad still haven't accepted. I have a little bit of a source on this one. Steen wants to start and his camp doesn't believe that that will happen at bama. Its just hard to turn down Saban when he wants you. LSU has a real shot here. I honestly think it's his and his dad's 1st choice. They absolutely love Brad Davis. Penn State and Virginia are fading fast. Man, I worry about that last bama visit though.

Thanks for sharing your info, brotha.
Much appreciated, and hope we can beat out Bama for this guy. Need as many OTs as we can get!
