More guys appear to be leaning to staying in state than any class in recent memory. I'm sure that will change, especially as we get to summer.

Agreed. Hell..we got on Jamal Adams so late in the process, anything can happen.

LSU doesn't seem to be targeting Texas next year. Lock down the state, steal some guys out of Mississippi, Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas. Call it a class.

I don't understand that move. A&M is going to keep trying to come into Louisiana. Why not make them use more resources defending their own turf?

Not sure. Could be a a situation of them not wasting their time, or them concentrating on other recruits.

Do you think we're getting to them early on? Any insights on what Grimes is telling them?

Also, is it a down year coming up for Texas or is the staff focusing on other key states?

Honestly Texas is wide open imo. Strong and his staff are way behind (and appear very disorganized). They are peppering the SE with offers yet ignoring a bunch of in-state kids. There is way too much talent in the state for us to take them all.

I don't buy that at all

A&M could build a recruiting class on just Texas guys

Stay the hell away from New Orleans

Great hire.

I won't be upset if they can never get their act together.

It's still very early to say whether or not the staff has a plan to stay out of Texas.

Texas thought they were more than what they are

Which is why I laugh at LSU fans who throw the "We are LSU, we can hire a top 5 coach" card when discussing firing Miles.

Tons and tons of luck go into finding the right coach.

UA has 26 commits, how many can they recruit since they have their hands in the pot on Dupre and a couple of others?

In that same vein, are we a "hard-stop" at 25 recruits? Didn't we fall short last year and lose a few through attrition?

we don't need texas every year. aTm will have lots of competition for recruits from big 12 programs. aTm better have a decent year on the field in 2014 or the party is over.

I think the strategy should be the opposite. Focus efforts on the OOS guys even more, especially as we approach the fall.

My feeling is that the "state pride" guys will go to LSU no matter what, those are the ones that will commit early and don't need to be coddled.

The ones that don't care about state pride are essentially OOS recruits anyway and shouldn't get any more time from the staff than our actual OOS guys do.
