No hijack but did anyone else really notice we made Nigel Warriors top 10? I know he been said we'd definitely make it but still.

Do you feel like there are more guys that just want to go out of state this year? I mean, with some of these guys, you can't say LSU was late on them. For most of them we were the first offer.

I just want to know where this whole "anywhere but LSU" sentiment keeps coming from and why it's getting to be more prevalent.

It's going to start happening more and more..and that has nothing to do with the staffs lack of plan or skill in recruiting. I'm just seeing more and more cases of handlers steering kids out of the state.

There's always going to be the ones that leave because the depth chart is more favorable (Devin White and Arkansas), but we now have cases where we aren't even recruiting kids because they are so dead set on leaving the state (Mykel Jones).

Yeah really. That would be worst than 5 for 5. Hopefully on field play makes up for everything. A ship would make life way more easy

it's just his opinion...people shouldn't take it as anything more than that. i don't think his intent was to worry folks. this is a damn good recruiting staff and it will finish with a top 2 class regardless imo

This was certainly not the case for 2015 class. Honestly, I am okay with this considering how much we have dominated the state of Florida and Texas, Georgia last year. We can afford to let some slip. Its about filling your needs. Its not about locking down the state.

I mean is Mykel Jones a better prospect for LSU than Sullivan or Dee Anderson? Nah.. No loss

Careful. These are they guys in our backyards - guys from LA. I like to dominate other states as much as anyone - we have a lot to offer at LSU - but letting top tier talent leave the state is like rotting from the inside.

I want top LA guys to go to LSU and most have seen and liked the Tigers since they were young. This isn't something you just let walk.

Lets hope so because we don't want to lose those guys - no way.

If you really think Mullen is 50/50, then you haven't been paying attention at all.

I would have to agree with Vermillion Tiger. I think we may get 4 of those guys listed in the original post. I have no inside knowledge or information, but every year we try to project the last 10 or so commitments and we end up listing the top-rated available guys and it historically never works out. It usually works the way VT stated. We get about 4 then 1 or 2 surprises and then 2 or 3 guys that showed out in their playoff games but are rated low by recruiting services. Did anyone expect Coxie to be part of the last 10?

Agreed, however its just not realistic to dominate other states and then LA as well. there are only about 25 spots each year, and too much depth makes recruits want to go elsewhere.

Last 8

Fulton
Lawrence
Manuel
Mullen/no 3rd CB
Divinity/McCulloch
White/no LB
Allen/3 star OL
DT Davis/Blaclock

ETA: I really would like Drake Davis and if a spot opens outside of these guys or somebody already committed, or that we could sign one more guy, I want it to be him.
