Is anyone else concerned with our lines getting consistently smaller? We did not get a single recruit over 300 pounds. Our line cannot protect or rush consistently in the SEC with 5 250-290 lineman on both sides of the ball.

I'm hoping that Ferguson or Copeland (probably less likely) grow to 300 lbs.

It doesn't seem to be a concern of the staff though. At least these guys can ball though, so it shouldn't matter as much.

Why is that funny? I'm not being negative, I think we got a great class this year, but you can't seriously assume that part of the o line problem wasn't caused by a lack of size

Yeah, if we have to go play a game with these guys next week we're definitely screwed.

I noticed that a few of the guys were on the smallish side, but they should be able to pick up weight pretty quickly. A lot of these guys aren't done growing yet, and it's part of the evaluation process to take growth potential into account.

most of these guys won't see the field for at least 2 or 3 years.

They're smaller now but they've got a lot of time to get bigger.

Lineman rarely come into college at 300+ lbs...

LSU evaluates their frame...its not hard to tell if a guy is going to be able to be a 300+ lb guy when hes 6'6. See Brockers last year.

Yeah that's true, I guess I was just thinking about dwzorack and t-bob being in the 260-280 range not having gained much since coming to campus

Every OL we signed this year or last year is bigger than Hebert, Hitt, or Dworaczyk. As well as some other guys like Hurst (who will be a starter next year) and Blackwell.

You should have done more research.

T-bob is like, 5'11 though. Centers are rarely huge anyway.

Dude, don't come in here and start being a doucher, I just raised a question.

Anyways, I'm not saying we should expect to have Herman Johnsons every year, but I guess Im used to seeing huge LSU lineman.

Guys like Faulk, Washington, Porter, Hurst, Blackwell, Lonergan, Williford, I think are all 300 lbs or above.

Sorry about the douchery.

Usually the 300 lbs guys in high school are not muscle and have to get in shape. (see Big Herm at almost 400 lbs) Most lineman get bigger in college. As for centers, Ben Wilkerson was very small and I don't think Helms was 300+ either.

True. And Auburn's had some pretty d-linemen in recent years that weren't 300 pounders.

I guess I didn't really Pay much attention to the line during the national championship seasons, but i guess their size just sticks out when they have bad years like this past year.
