I would absolutely love to have Frost, but Calloway took his spot. And as hard as it is for anyone to believe he didn't run it by our coaches, it sounds like that was the case. He was going to Mich until RichRod got fired, then he commited to us without our coaches knowledge, when they had already filled out the class, or at least thought they'd had it filled out.

It sucks because he's a hell of a player, but there's just not room for him unless he wants to pay his own way for his first year, which I don't think will happen.

Many think we finish with Fulse, Roberson, Florence, Wright, and 3 or 4 of these - Tre Mason, Huggins, Crowell*, Drew, Sigler and Westerman. Maybe if we only get those first 4, Frost will come along, but it sounds like it may not happen now.

Westerman only if Grimes doesn't go to Texas. If Grimes goes to Texas, Westerman will definitely end up there, but if Grimes stays, we're in really good shape with him. Drew is still up in the air. I know most think he's going to end up at uga, but he's been really tight lipped this whole time, and most think it's down to us and uga, with uga probably being more likely, there's still a chance he comes to Auburn. Sigler would commit today if they'd accept his commitment, but I think they're waiting on solidifying some higher on their wish list.

*As for Crowell, the guy hasn't publicly had Auburn in it the whole time, but I keep hearing about how there's still a chance. He is visiting us with Gabe Wright the weekend before signing day, and some(not just Jeff Lee and Bryan Matthews, etc) think we have a chance. I'll believe it when it happen in this case.

Sounds like Auburn wanted the tv publicity but not the kid.

I'm sure you want to think that, but no school wants bad publicity like that. The people that watch these games follow recruiting for the most part. No school wants a kid to commit to them on national tv, only to have to tell the kid that there's no room for them. That looks bad for the school since most will assume that Auburn backed out of the commitment, when that wasn't the case. It's really a no win situation for that given school.

You have to love AUBURN EAGLES super-mods post to this.

"Alright folks. I've been hesitant to post but have decided to go on let you know what I know. This is basically what I understand to have happened...

Frost originally gave his word to Auburn and then, late in the process, told the AU coaches he was committing instead to Michigan. This didn't go over well with our coaches. They kept in contact with Kris but locked up some other guys in the meantime. At this point we were getting tight with the good possibility of not having anymore room for Frost, should he decide to switch back.

After Rich Rod was fired, Frost indeed decided he wanted to switch back to the good guys and subsequently make his commitment known at the Army All Star game. Knowing we probably didn't have room anymore and being the men of integrity they are, the coaches urged him not to do it. Kris either ignored them or misinterpreted what they were telling him, though. He then went ahead with the live committment on tv.

As ST said, there's still a possibility he could greyshirt at Auburn (his parents have gathered a tremendous amount of respect for our staff over time) to start out with and there's also a good possibility he could wind up with someone else on NSD. Right now I'm leaning towards the latter happening but the situation is still fluid and could go either way. There's also a small chance that we'll wind up having room should we choose to take him at the last minute."

So the Auburn-fambly tried to tell him they didnt have room for him but somehow he took that as we have room go ahead and commit on national tv.

Your school would sign him and cut someone else. No way in hell you can say anything about integrity in this situation. Your coaches do not have it.

I think they were thinking that with the Championship season they were going to get a bump in the salary cap and it didn't come through.

Oh yeah. I am sure that is it. You sure seem smart. I bet your fellow LSU fans are very proud of you and the insight you provide.
