He was poised to step up and be a player this year and get some playing time but then the injury happened and whatever reason he couldn't get things sorted out. And I believe he transferred to La Tech.

Edit: Who would you have left out of that class to bring Cooper in?
Tim Molton

Don't be the after the fact guy...Molton looked good in hs, played with our current qb, and was getting rave reviews. GTFO with this. Who could foresee his injury/whatever else made him leave?

of all the WR faux pahs we've had in recent years, who cares about Khiry Cooper?
what about Dez Bryant, who all but begged to be a Tiger? What about DeAndre Brown, who wound up having no issues fully qualifying when it was all said and done?
We've done worse than not take Khiry Cooper...hell, I'd rather have Laron Byrd than Cooper ..but we had to do the politically correct thing and take MyMy Taylor since he was Brandon's and Curtis' brother

Sorry, I ruined this thread Roger.
But this is the kind of bitching I was referring to.

Hear you man, no worries. Any thread that goes over 10 posts will go to the dark side.

I absolutely want to upchuck when the Frank Alexander threads start popping up

most of the time I will defer to the staff when they pass on an in-state guy, but this one still has me puzzled. Although I don't think he'd have made the early impact here that he did at OU, it's still clear that he is very talented and should not have been overlooked, especially being that he is from BR.

Khiry Cooper has 7 catches for like 70 yards on the season....man, he would totally put us over the top

and he didnt even start all that often for them in baseball after being drafted pretty high, so no one can ask why we passed him up during baseball season either

I'm not saying I don't agree about Alexander being a player, but everytime he gets a sack or makes one tackle the rantards come out. Its ridiculous. We didn't sign the guy...he's from BR...he's good...get over it.

I can see missing on him more than others we missed

I think people are still trying to figure out how Bryant got eligible...But I can't argue with taking a sure thing in Toliver over a slim chance on Bryant. And we stuck with Brown. He's the one that turned us down because he didn't want to go the juco route. There's not much the staff could have done on that one.
WR is not a position we're hurting at.

The worst was Lucas Taylor who begged in articles to go to LSU and got 0 love.
Posted on 10/18/09 at 8:27 am to JJ27
I never thought Taylor was that talented of a WR ..a solid returner but we had better WRs on the team than Taylor IMO
Miles doesn't take returners unless they're part cheetah

Qualifying in the SEC =/= to qualifying in the big 12 =/= qualifying in CUSA
Beyond that, it's not like we picked up the lower ranked guys instead of these big time guys, we passed on Dez for Tolliver. You aren't going to get 3 ***** WR's in a class.
