Compared to DE? Heck yes. R. Dickson is leaving as a long-time starter. No idea who might replace him. Joseph is simply not a receiver. D. Peterson might get moved to WR because we lack bodies there and lets be honest, he's nowhere near his listed 240, he's the size of a WR. We're left with Tyler Edwards at TE who basically never plays. We could REALLY use Adams at TE, and use him a lot.

We have a TON of DEs. We are literally possibly more loaded there than any other position on the team....

Levingston, Aghayere, Clement, Logan, Montgomery...possibly Brockers, Hicks...incoming Allen, Maclin and Bates

I can't decide where we have a bigger need for him.

Our production at DE was pretty lousy, while at TE we lose Dickson. Deangelo Peterson has shown a lot of promise as a pass catcher, but not sure about him as a blocker.

The key is it gives more versitility to Chase Clement, an athlete we need to find a spot for.

I still see Peterson more as a big WR, he doesn't have the size for TE. Mitch Joseph sucks even at blocking. Clement could give the complete package.

Hicks, Brockers, and Logan are DTs.

Levingston and Chancey can't sniff a QB, Clement could move to TE now.

This will prolly mean Allen Moves inside or plays offense..I agree, i think its a Dline with a lot of depth. A coach for a actuall commit informed me there will be a lot of moves on the Dline.

Dont be surprised if Levingston is moved inside, and Mingo, is moved to a 3rd down specialist with his hand playing down..Still has bout 15 pounds to gain.

May look like this:
WE
Montgomery
Clement
Mingo (3rd down)/ Adams.

DT
Nevis
Levingston
Downs

DT.
Davenport
Brockers
J.Allen

DE
Edwards
Agahayere
Logan

Ken had been signed by Tubs and staff (unheralded out of high school), wasn't offered until late in the process by this staff. He was attractive for a 2009 guy. We got Newton to fill the last spot for 2009, which was a surprise to most. Ken was no longer a priority for the 2010 pool of recruits. Insert Frank Wilson and his Tennessee connection (Adams had decommited from Tennessee recently), and you (LSU) got a "solid" guy who will probably come in spring and provide quality depth, maybe not LSU caliber "elite" depth, but depth worth signing for 2009 and not hurting 2010 recruiting one bit. This guys is essentially a bonus for you. Congrats.

Half those guys aren't DEs.

We have young Dickson coming in who is a TE. Edwards is a TE and didn't play much because he's a true freshman.

Peterson will likely stay at TE.

And those are just the receiving TEs.

Not to mention Nick Jacobs coming in this year plus Mitch Joseph, as blocking TEs.

You don't need 15 TEs on the roster...

Logan and Brockers will be DTs. Hicks is a DT.

I said JUCO DE, not DE period. We have like 8-10 potential DEs next year, why do we need a JUCO DE? TE is a much bigger position of need for a JUCO.

Hicks and Brockers are hybrid DT/DE. Both very tall, around 300.

Logan I had no idea they have DT plans for him...he's really, really small for a DT. At least right now.

I wouldn't go near that far. A couple might not end up being DEs but you can't say we don't have a ton of DEs compared to TEs. I also forgot Mingo in there.

You expect a true freshman to play at TE? Edwards was NOT a true freshman this year BTW.

Peterson will likely stay at TE.

That's only a "maybe" and he's not really a TE at his size.

Jacobs is starting to project as an OT and Joseph is pretty useless.

We might be lucky to have even 4 on the roster next year. That includes Peterson who really isn't a TE and is just listed as one. No idea why you think we have way more TEs than DEs and ones that are capable players next year at that. TE is a much bigger need at JUCO.

Those are maybes at best. Logan is pretty small and Brockers/Hicks can play both DT and DE.

He is coming on as a defensive end. He and Haley have gotten pretty close, and the connection with Wilson at Tenn. did nothing but help LSUs cause.

Anyone notice that Nick Jacobs and Adams have the same measurables. 6'5 243 4.8(40)? I guess one will be TE,one DE??

Move Clement and it solves that need...

If Clement moves, we need a Juco DE.

Logan is in the 280s right now, according to a friend of his. And he's looked big on the sidelines, so that doesn't surprise me.

Chavis doesn't play the big, slow DEs.
