I have a buddy claiming insider sources into Texas football and he's strutting around the office today saying that Kary Vincent is flipping to UT. Anyone have any background on this? I've not even seen any smoke suggesting Vincent is contemplating a flip to Texas (or anywhere else).

For what it's worth, he's been pretty damn accurate on flips to Texas (from LSU and other schools) in the past.

Edited to add: I think this smoke make be coming from the fact that both Vincent and his mother showed up at UT for an official visit this weekend. According to this article, he wanted it to be a secret:

quote:

A big visit weekend for the Texas Longhorns added a little star power with the late Friday news that LSU Tigers cornerback pledge Kary Vincent is on campus with his mother.

Vincent clearly wanted to keep the visit under wraps for as long as possible — he was not on any visitor list until Horns247 broke the news, which was later confirmed by HornSports.

An in-home visit from Longhorns head coach Tom Herman prior to the dead period helped secure the official visit from Vincent even though the Port Arthur Memorial product has left little public room for the consideration of other schools.

Vincent OV to Texas

Vincent? The guy that said LSU would have to cancel its football program for him to go anywhere else? That guy? Yeah, he isn't flipping.

When there's no smoke, there's no fire. They need to be more worried about keeping Chaisson from us

I would shake my head and thank him for helping recruit so much for us and then celebrate the guys we signed

Assuming your texas friend is the typical yuppie, skinny jean wearing, floppy bangs douche type that most of them are and is just being arrogant bc they just are without reason

All things are possible when it comes to recruiting. Hopefully he lets the staff know beforehand.

He told our coaches Thursday he was visiting Texas. He's as solid as could be.

There's always a chance until those papers are faxed in but he's about as close a lock as possible.

What others have already stated in this thread - Vincent is solid LSU. Shea Dixon was asked today out of all the LSU commitments, whose is the most solid? Dixon replied that in his opinion, it's K. Vincent and A. Moffit.

Despite hiring Herman, UT is a dumpster fire of softness, even amongst a Big-12 dumpster fire of softness of a.conference..

Which means Herman and 4AM soggy egg workouts may be in effect til 2019 or later?

Charlie Strong had an unblemished career resume until he married up with the softness known as Tejas HS 7-on-7 culture..

I expect Strong to rebound nicely with tough So Fla HS kids.

I thought he went to Texas this weekend to keep recruiting Chaisson for us?

Disappointing if he ends up flipping. (I don't think that's very likely - more like wishful thinking on UT's part.)

Yeah - his defenses were legit at USCe, Florida and Louisville.
