On the field for A&M really wish LSU would have offered.

Stewart is gonna be good but I think Minter is a better linebacker. Stewart is only playing bc a&m sucks on defense.

I'm surprised this thread was started before a Christine Michael thread. He's everyones pick to win 5 heisman trophys.

"I trust the coaches" seems to be the best albeit unsatisfying answer.

I think people overrate Miles' and Co's ability to honestly evaluate talent and recruit for need.

I think they just blew it a few times when we obviously need depth. He's a lot better player than some of the others we have recruited or a recruiting this year that will NEVER see the field at LSU outside of special teams.

so because LSU has the luxury of redshirting players and a&m has to play freshmen, Les has no idea how to evaluate players. bullshite

I am not talking about red shirting players here. Miles has done a poor job of missing out on some great local talent while taking marginal/risky talent in their place. Plain and simple.

I don't think people were expecting Stewart would be starting at LSU, but quality and top talent DEPTH is key.

On the flip sde of that, Miles an company have made some good choices when evaluating talent.

They offered Morris Claiborne before anyone knew he existed. Morris Claiborne himself didn't even know who Morris Claiborne was.

Tryann Mathiea was a surprise. There were also guys like Ciron Black and Tyson Jackson who weren't highly regarded out of high school. Lafell was a three star, and both Riley and Shepard were questionale takes. They proved wise signings in the end.

Simply put, coaches from many schools let instate talent slip away all the time. There's players in every state not going to their instate schools.

Seems that Miles and staff put weighted emphasis on camp performance.

Not completely, but it helps with certain recruits. Curtis Carter had a great camp. They just don't need a slot receiver with the kids in LA next year. I think they have "we're LSU and you're in LA if you don't want to come here that's cool we'll find someone who does" complex.

No, West Monroe fans didn't like him b/c he played them with some chip. He had two late hits and the game was closer than they liked. His mom is a teacher and dad is a judge. He's a good kid.

There was a huge post on him on kenramsey back in the day. Everyone knows if your team is going to win in West Monroe you have to play borderline tough/dirty. He did and he talked smack... it was a low scoring game and WM won.

He hit WM offensive lineman Dillon Day 5 seconds after the whistle. He got about a three yard sprint into him then FLIPPED Dillons then 250lb body. He wasnt ejected from the game. That was the whole argument from WM people.

From what has been posted about Day on here I'm sure he did nothing to lead up to this either.
