Yeah, I wrote a similar opinion about the view of the LSU program from in-state recruits versus out of state recruits in another thread over the weekend.

The problem isn't as much our fans as it is the general population of the state.

quote:

I think our fanbase is as much to blame as our coaching staff for the "fences being down." The fact that half the population of the state thinks Les is a joke and Saban is a god, these in-state recruits are exposed to that nauseating narrative all year long. Whether you are Pro or Anti-Les, the fact is everybody in the State has an opinion about him, and if they don't bleed purple and gold it's typically that he is an "idiot" and LSU win's in-spite of him, because we have so much talent. That is coming from your Grandma, your Aunt, your Uncle, and everyone else when you live in this state.

Out of state recruits see a guy who loves his players and his players love to play for him. They see the mystique of Tiger Stadium, and ultimately they see that we put guys in the league, every single damn year.

Saban was just one of those rare figureheads that everyone in the state "pulled for." Les for various reasons, is just a very polarizing figure, and everyone has their own opinion about him. It would probably take another National Title to change the "naysayers" minds.

Why do people with no clue flock here the last week of recruiting?

I agree with that.

Besides Joe McKnight, like who?

Since 2002 (as far bask as rivals keeps track), LSU has signed EIGHT guys from Curtis which I'm willing to bet is more than any other HS.

I know.... you're going to call me a troll and tell me to frick off because you can't think of anyone else we have missed on besides McKnight.

Don't think I've ever looked less forward to a signing day than this one. Not that I think it's going to be a disappointing day, but this cycle has just been shitty.

I'll take shitty every year when it results in a top 3 class.

You are a basketball guy. I don't think you really care a lot about LSU football by the numerous posts you have made over the years.
2 days before signing day I'm not here to fight with anyone, just want to follow recruiting.
You can bait all you want, I'm not biting.

I do however have the right as every fan here to express my opinion and I did.

Should we get Dupre in 2 days my feelings toward JC will change from that day forward.

But everyone here has the right to believe as they choose, it's the negative posts that turn people off from believing when someone actually has something good to say ...reputation here is everything...

You're such a dumb frick. You can't think of another Curtis player LSU offered and missed on so you throw out a red herring. I don't think you care about LSU football because you don't know shite about it.

The guy who was saying I don't know anything because the coaches don't know anything...

Not sure who it was nor do I care to look it up. I'm not sweating national signing day because my source has been pretty spot on besides a couple prospects (tony brown, Gerald Willis)

I think we do. For a few reasons

1) his parents, from what I've heard, love lsu.
2) distance from St. Louis is closer to go to a few games. They don't seem to be a fan of most of his games being on the west coast starting at 10 pm their time
3) Adoree has kept LSU on his mind since he started rising. Most kids mention LSU from the west coast because of our brand name, then decide to drop us or commit elsewhere, his love for lsu has always been strong.
4) DBU. Patrick Peterson tyran Matthieu Eric Reid mo Claiborne etc are all in the nfl, all on active rosters. The way we pump db's into the league has his eye.
5) cam Cameron and les miles. He loves these two.
6) our recent two sport players, especially trindon Holliday. Track is a passion of his and our track coach has become active in his recruitment.
7) the open position of our return game is gaurenteed his if he commits to us. The Super Bowl last night showed him just how much an electric player like him can take over a game. He knows he can step in here and shine in 3 different positions. Nickel, RS, and as an offensive game changer.

Those 2 don't count since they it was reported they lied to the staff...
Not sure TB's motive since his sister is enrolled here..that is just bizarre..
