This the same Jimmy that said the LSU's world was going to explode last week?

Things appear to be going well right now. Both QB's happy, lining up nicely with M Wilson and I do sense a WR boom coming.
Isn't Jimmy the coach of a 7 on 7 team that a certain highly rated wide receiver recruit played for?

i don't know about anyone "freaking" out. but on Dec 11th you announced it looked like Lane Kiffen would be OC. on the 12th Kiffen signed with FAU.

then on the 12th you wrote your doom and gloom on recruiting. Monty Rice committed the next day. Guidry is back. Narcise is back.

i believe you get most of your information from here.

I, for one, am thankful that Jimmy posts on here. He has more intel than anyone on this site. Recruiting can be extremely fluid and everyone should know that.

Agreed. Jimmy has good info often straight from the kids. Things are very fluid.

I suspected Cam was going to FSU and now I'm 99% sure.

Unless somebody pulls a rabbit out of a hat...or perhaps a wad of cash out of sed hat. Lol!

To be fair, things looked really weird a couple weeks ago and the chatter among recruits was a lot of uncertainty.

Hiring an OC and getting some needed recruits has changed the outcome very quickly

Prime example of situations when you're dealing with 17/18 year old kids.

Nobody will get it right 100% of time.

Now, wanting hits on a website is just business & sensationalism sells.

It's not just that. We fired Peveto way before we should have, but I'm not going to judge that too much.

Then we spent time waiting on Kiffen, alienating some important recruits in process and dragging our feat waiting to see what Lane would do. Offering Tua made no sense and had Kiffen been hired we would have likely lost both Myles and Narcisse and ended up with just De'Andre

Those are just a few of the things that happened.

IMO Jimmy is one the best, he's one of the only recruiting experts who actually has experience with coaching and/or scouting recruits.

Your tweet insinuated that people were wrong to over-react. When you bill yourself as an expert, you should expect people to trust you when you say a recruiting class is trending the wrong way.

It was supposed to allude to the reaction I received, messages, emails etc. The class was trending the wrong way. Within a few days of that tweet things were heading in the wrong direction. Buggs, Lowell, Akers, prospects worried about who was being retained on staff. As this evening's tweet stated, they bounced back. They pulled Narcisse back in, secured Canada, Brennan reaffirmed, Guidry came back to the class and Rice jumped aboard. It's fairly obvious, right?

With 2 months until signing day and not having a complete staff? Yeah it was an over reaction.

There was a specific time-frame they were targeting for recruiting purposes. Kids went on their officials and they couldn't tell them who the OC was going to be. Staff members still didn't know what their futures would be.

My style isn't going to change. It rubs some the wrong way, others understand it and get a different perspective on how recruiting works. I wasn't a writer before I took this job. I worked in the scouting service and camp industries for years, so I feel that I have a unique outlook on things. I was on the ground. Not saying it is a better one--just different than you are used to getting from a lot of writers. I'm simply trying to fill you in on the day-to-day shifts if you will. I wish people really knew how crazy recruiting really is. It's going to take 10 years off of my life.

For example: Chris Allen was set to commit to Alabama after one of the junior days. LSU caught wind of it and brought him and the family in the next morning and temporarily put a halt to it. The morning of July 28, right after my son was born, Cam called and gave me the scoop on the visit that transpired the day before. Allen gave LSU a commitment on July 27. He planned to go public shortly after, the 28th, and I put out the alarm. Well, he changed his mind overnight, without me knowing obviously. That is an example of not only what happens, but how fluid and quickly things can change. I wrote up 3 commitment stories for that kid, but he struggled to move forward with a public announcement. That's recruiting. I don't mind looking wrong to the guys that don't read me. The ones that are in my chats, interact on social media, call me, text me etc. love it. Don't like it, don't read it. Won't cost you a $ either way.

WELL put!

Interesting about Chris Allen though. I guess that was the "boom" that everybody was talking about back then.

Not so easy to do, especially when there is a shot at getting him.

I will admit, however, the chances are very slim.

Moving on…If Etienne wants to come, he fits. And I think we'd all be happy with the results.

I'll do this all night. I'm sick, bored and this is actually quite enjoyable to me. I dig banter.

Kiffin came back to the table with FAU after walking away on the 11th, as reported by multiple sites. Again, another fluid situation. You are also implying that Kiffin was locked in, which is not the way that tweet should have read. Guidry came back in after the fact, which is something I wrote a piece on, when Craig visited and Guidry reported the legendary "re-offered" tweet that I loved. Narcisse decommitted the day after my tweet.

And I honestly don't know if I ever got anything substantial from here. Unfortunately, the public only gets a small portion of what is going on. The entire thing is built on reporter sources, which really limits us. If you think I'm clueless then it's glaringly obvious you don't read me. If I could share everything, all the time, I would. I have to be extra careful now because guys like BugaPainTrain and I forget the other one, would take private conversations back to the board. Actually, there was something written on here the other day that I traced back to a private conversation and the guy erased it and apologized.
