From film, he could be a reciever that gets PT above others. Not a burner, not extremely quick but is physical and has good hands.

why arent they pressuring him to commit as they do with most in-state players?

Yeah, I have wondered this as well. BUT, I have learned (particularly here on THIS board) that 90% of what you hear, or read is total BS. Behind the scenes who knows...

Could be he is already committed and has been told to sit on it. Who knows.....

This probably isn't true. Assuming that the higher ranked guy on the rivals list is the higher guy on LSU's board isn't a good assumption. Wright fits our mold much better.

IMO Wright won't be immediate impact. Pro's - good routes, good hands, can elevate. Con's can't get enough seperation, no break-away speed or quickness, strong for high school kid, but physicality is average at best for SEC receiver. I think he'll catch in a crowd but YAC will be minimal early in career. Fundamentals to develop into top flight guy later, but not as a frosh.

I agree, but how many guys can come to LSU and make an impact at WR as a true freshman?

Mike Davis will be that guy for us in this class, if we have one.

I haven't seen alot of Davis, but he seems to have good hands and speed. Note that LSU hasn't made as much use of the little bubble screens. They need better blocking receivers. Lafell is the best and he'll be gone. You think Davis would be an improvment there? His size indicates he would need a little growth.

I don't know about blocking. I think he's more of a slot type WR. Probably the one that gets thrown to on the bubble screen.

I agree with the M Irvin comment. Did Irvin contribute at Miami as a freshman? It is difficult to transition from the prep passing game to college in one season, much more complex. Unless you can get the ball in space and create something or you're a burner, you will need time to develop. Irvin was neither a burner nor a creator, but Wright isn't Irvin...yet. Time will tell.
