He's planning on visiting with his family on an unofficial Friday. Interesting.

quote:

Ja’Marr Chase made an unexpected splash on Sunday evening by ending an unofficial visit to Gainesville, Fla., with a commitment to the Gators. While the top-110 prospect maintains he’s 100 percent committed to his pledge, Chase will be visiting another SEC school, LSU is set to host Chase and his family for an unofficial visit.

Sam Spiegs with the update

ETA: they changed the visit to Friday

None of these kids are anymore. I wouldn't worry too much about the class until December.

Man once this season kicks off and these Louisiana recruits see LSUs style completely changed their Moms and Dads will be saying why not go where we can see you anytime and be featured in this high powered offense/defense.

LSU will get who we want in the end, IF everything goes accordingly. By that I mean looks fun to everyone and is actually a potent offense which I believe will be fact soon enough. The first 5 games will be fun to watch all the defense's struggle to figure out this offense.

I think a lot of these kids have a hard time telling these coaches "no". They may like the coaches and let them talk them into a commitment on their visit. I think this is what happened with Chase. He will be a tiger when it's all said and done

From what I gather the parents are in LSU's corner, so the kid is probably appeasing his parents by visiting tomorrow.

I honestly think Chase wants out of LA.

Hope I'm wrong b/c he's a stud.

It's long from over with chase and jason. Chase would not be making this visit fresh off of a commitment if he was fully committed.

He just wants to see LSU's offense. I think he got caught up in the atmosphere at FNLs in Gainesville and the 5* qb committing and made a rash decision.

Give it time, let it play out

And that's exactly how I view the situation.

Guess his coach and I are on same page.

Wanted to pick TCU. Now picks Florida. Don't care. Let's not mention him again.

I think it is this way more often than anything to do with "attention".

You got a link? I don't see anything like that on the recruiting board. I'm probably looking in the wrong place.

This, sadly. Recruiting is so hard to follow now with social media giving these kids an outlet to be complete attention whores and change their minds 1000 times per cycle.

I've been a hardcore recruiting follower for a few years now but I'm starting to feel like the best way to go about keeping up with it nowadays is to just check in on our 247 commitment list once a month and ignore the rest of the dramatic tidbits and the so called "insiders" who don't know their asses from their elbows.

I would just like to LOL at the melt that ensued when he committed to UF, and all the shite poured on the LSU staff the last few days....................

If you keep up with recruiting the kid obviously doesn't know what he wants to do. Not saying he's gonna play at LSU. But I doubt he sticks with say Kansas......TCU.....or FL.........
