I read Shea's update and class prediction article today.

I'll just say this, he is usually very conservative...

he thinks we get Gay, Phillips, and Allen!

He said, he feels the best about Phillips who is committed to OU.

I mean that's just odd...

Over the years, when another fan base is confident and Shea is quiet, that means he doesn't think we're getting someone.

when he sticks his neck out there, he knows something...

So don't be surprised if Allen stays home.

He also predicted some other high profile targets, so overall it was super encouraging...

of course nothing is in stone, things change, but it's nice to see him confident down the stretch with 1 month to go

I think we get 2/3 between Allen, Phillips, and Gay. The pressure of leaving Louisiana for its biggest rival is tough for some kids, especially those that grew up dreaming of playing for LSU (Allen). He may say one thing, but when it's time to put pen to paper, don't be surprised if he chooses to stay home. Phillips admitted that his family would be able to see him play more at LSU because it's closer to home and many LSU road games are closer to Tennessee than any games OU will play. Plus, he's enamored with the SEC, not the big 12 where defense is clearly optional.

You're right, Shea is usually pretty conservative and careful about making predictions, so this is pretty damn exciting to me. I'm greedy and want K'Lavon Chaisson too, but if we get Gay, Phillips and Allen, I will be ecstatic.

I get the feeling he was a little more aggressive with these picks because it's closer to signing day, BUT the explanations and articles that have been put out correlate with his predictions. It'll be an interesting road for the next month to say the least.

I think him coming out with those.. he is very confident and he prob knows a little more than we do.. I think there will be a few surprises on NSD and everything will work out
