on the "eve" of signing day, rumors abound about us losing out on targets and even some of our commits flipping to other schools. it's easy to get swept up in the emotion and uncertainty.

the thing is that some of our targets that we "just knew" were all LSU probably never were anyway. we tend to believe what we want to. a lot of these remaining guys haven't committed because they are unsure of where they're going.

we have a great class already; if we can keep them all and sign another 2 or 3 damn good players we have done very well. from what I am reading we probably won't sign Scott, Carter or Giles but who the hell knows?

this time of the year is crazy.

I'll believe Scott isn't coming when he signs to Maryland. I know the academics is a big deal but i would say playing in state is also a huge plus. Not to mention, it's not like Maryland had a big jump on LSU. I think he'll wind up at LSU but best of luck to him if he doesn't. He's earned a shot art a major college.

I truly believe Scott will see the WR talent stacked at LSU he will then commit to the good guys. no inside information just feeling he will stay home and play for LSU

I'll be pleasantly surprised if Carter signs with LSU. I just don't see it happening. But man this class is even more ridiculous with him.

I don't understand why people talk about academics when we are talking about undergraduate degrees (specially for football players). The school really doesn't matter that much, it is the student that matters most. BTW, I taught at both Maryland and LSU and for an undergraduate degree there is not much difference between the two.

If academics were a big deal to him or his pops he would already be committed to Harvard... Kid wants to shine!! WR talent is sick this year sowho wouldnt want to play with those guys...
All i know is we need a good qb recruit in this class!

If academics are a huge deal, do what Rivers did if football doesn't pan out. Rivers graduated from here in 3 years (IIRC) and then went to Vanderbilt. Now Rivers did transfer the very next year but it is possible to get a degree here and transfer to a graduate program at another school if he so chooses.
