Recruiting - fun as hell to follow for yokels like us, but this shite is big business guys. LSU football made something along the lines of $55M of profit on $145M in revenue last year. That’s crazy money. This year will be even bigger. Big business means big time strategy and in Ed’s case, a bold strategy. His strategies so far have been pretty fricking successful. He made some strong recruiting moves and landed a very solid class with some very big fish. He missed on 3-4 big fish. Well, shite happens in business sometimes and WE have to have the stomach for it. For us, this is theatre but I think we all have to understand that Ed’s strategy had to include a contingency plan, and he’s got 2 months to execute it. Relax, he man has 6 spots to offer up to play for LSU for the next 4 years. We gonna get some solid kids. They may not be as good as the ones we missed on, but who knows, they might be better.

Either way, if you’re going to be the best you have to go get the best and be in on enough of them to fill the class. I think that’s what Ed will take away from this years class... that we were very successful recruiting nationally, but we needed to be in on more kids for backups. This was a very down year for Louisiana recruiting numbers, so with that I think so far O’s strategy has been great. Let’s see how it closes out.

Oh, and to whoever ran Vol off - thanks a lot dickhole, you’ve made this a much less interesting place.

Think of all the players LSU offered late who became strong contributors--Russell Gage, Duke Riley, Deion Jones, just to name a few.

No reason why some of these February signees can't do the same.

I think Kaufman will be that guy from this class. I think he gets the last spot and turns in to be a DUDE for LSU. Just a feeling.

What was he wrong about? Name something other than what the coaches were wrong about.

Someone with legit sources doesn’t quit posting because of a few mistakes that he had no control over. Only someone full of shite would quit posting for that.

He quit posting because, while trying to provide information for this forum, he provided info that even the coaches had, it turned out differently and then he got dogged out for it. I just don't understand why it's so hard for people to read something and then just take it for what it's worth. If you don't believe it then just move on. Information that was believed to be true by all accounts turned out to be trickery. It happens. Either way, he was not wrong more than he was right.

I've been following recruiting here for over 10 years it seems. And I still fall into the trap of being disappointed by the decisions of an 18 year old kid. I know we'd all like to believe that everyone should be chomping at the bit to play for our Tigers, it's hard to accept that it's not always the case. Coach O has always been a great recruiter and I have all the confidence in the world in him to get great talent on the field. Sure it's frustrating when we hear that other schools have simply sent The Bag Man and flipped players but this may not always be the actual story. I'm willing to ride with the guys who want to suit up in the purple and gold and I'm sure our coaches will finish this class really strong. If we can stay in the playoff picture year after year consistently, we will regain the clout to land the national Big Fish more consistently.
