We're about to have 2 LB drafted
We have multiple LB starting in the NFL that have produced very very well
Aranda fielded a top defense in the country
Duke Riley saw a massive improvement in his game and gave huge credit to Aranda, was a 3* out of high school but will get drafted at a good round
Aranda has coached low rated high school talent and walk-ons into NFL draftees at Wisconsin

Luckily we have the best defensive coordinator and LB coach in the county who has made 2 and 3* recruits snatched up from the corn fields of Middle America into all Americans. Just think what he could do with the athletes we get here at LSU?

Maybe Aranda coaching up some lesser star guys will turn it around.

I have faith

It doesn't defy logic because we're losing them to Saban. If we were losing in state guys to Ole Miss, Arkansas, or other places, it might defy logic. Saban is the true Honey Badger, he takes what he wants when it comes to recruiting.

Winning solves everything.

Its as simple as that. The program is in a transitional period and I am sure that there is plenty of negative recruiting going on against the Tigers right now whether it's true or not. A good win in the bowl game should help a little.

If they don't want to be here fine but we should start taking Alabama's like Kwon...

Does anyone have info on why we aren't in contact with Kendric Haynes? Violent tackler and moves well... Is it grades? Players higher on the list we can pull/flip?

Dave Aranda will turn Monty Rice, Patrick Queen, and whoever else we get into great college players. Both of those guys IMO have more ability than Duke Riley did coming out of HS and look at what Dave was able to do with Duke this year

"Winning solves everything". The problem with this illogic is that you can't be "winning" if the team you're trying to beat keeps getting players that prevent your lesser players from "winning"! So you see the vicious circle we're in? Until we stop the mad midget from taking athletes we can't beat, we can't be "winning".

You have to find a way to win. It is possible.

We fired our coach. Why do people think that this won't have an impact? That and we had 2 top linebackers in our backyard that we thought we had in the bag for 2 years. White looks like a stud, and Divinity will be a good one. We will be fine.

Considering we had a staff change, the fact that we will still have a top 5 class is marvelous.

Never tried to say that winning was easy. We need these La HS kids to start wanting to be the giant killers instead of the giant.

This right here and I think that will start with coach O I really do. He was behind the 8ball with those two LBs that left. I think he starts getting these guys especially after White and Key break records the next couple of years. Divinity is good but if LSU wants that bama style defense we need those big time guys across the board. Moses and Allen would have been huge this year and would have put us on the course for creating a BIG TIME ELITE front seven. This could very well still happen because there are guys still out there that are better than these two guys IMO. That kid from GA is pretty damn good, can't think of his name but we could still land Chassion, and the GA kid and make up for those two some what.

Then another year of Aranda, Canada comes in, our ST improves big, and our team now looks complete you will see much more options for LSU. One thing is for sure we are going to be loaded if/when we land the DLman we are after, specifically Wilson, Mathis, and Shelvin. With what we already have and the fact that Valentine has tremendous motivation to become the NT he could be, we are DEEP. That improved fast with Orgeron, and I think he will be all over getting these positions at an elite level ASAP, QB, OT, OLB, MLB. Once he does that it's curtains for bama and that bambo fence will then be a freakn Depleted Uranium/Titanium Wall SOBs.

But we were not since 2005 when Les was hired and we never killed it in LB recruiting. Sure we have many doing well in the pros but they were mostly 3 stars, some 4 stars. However the OP is making a good point as Bama cannot get all of the cream, LSU should have the high 4 stars and 1-2 5 stars beating on the door...Oh they were here but are going to Bama

The truth is that Louisiana doesn't produce many highly ranked lb's. Over the last few years the higher rated ones that came out of Louisiana were tweeter DE/LB like Beckwith, and Tim Williams.

Then you have guys like Donnie Alexander and Duke that were 3* guys that earned an offer.

Then you have the higher rated guys like Moses, Allen, Divinity, and Kenny Young. LSU has whiffed in 3 of those.

Louisiana doesn't produce pure LB's like it does DB's, DLineman, or WR's. So when and elite one comes out you have to get them. That hasn't been happening.

I'm wondering if Riley played over his head bc of Beckwith getting a lot of attention from OL.
