Why do some feel the need to do this?

I think a lot of us just don't want to hear more of the media knob slobbering over Bama. However, even if LSU landed a number one class, they would still talk more about Bama's class. That's just the way it is. At the end of the day, why even worry about #1 or #2? Let's just land a great class and look forward to beating the frick out of the Tide next season in Tiger Stadium on the way to the SECCG.

There is a correlation to top ranked classes and championships, but really there are 10-15 equally as talented teams every year. You get a #2 and #5 class, another team gets a #1 and a #6 class, really no difference in talent. You can sign 20 5* defensive backs and have the top rated class, but you aren't going to win championships.

Right now I see most logical/hopeful scenario as getting Chi, Valentine, Trey L. and Kelly; Godchaux and Clark hopefully don't flip and then maybe a surprise with Young or Jackson.

It wouldn't give us the #1 class, but I'm pretty sure it would lock up the #2 spot. And despite some of the whining and complaining by folks would give us a ridiculously good recruiting year.

If we finish with

Chi
Adoree
Valentine
Kenny Young
Emanuel Porter
Trey L.
Derrick Kelly

that puts us at 441.10

Bama'a class is overrated, but according to the highlight film watchers gage is an incredible underrated gem.

see how that works?

For every diamond in the rough (Mathieu, Claiborne, etc) there's a Lump of Coal disguised as a diamond (Davenport, Shep, etc).
Not that it's Shep's fault, but you see what I mean?

we just need to fill needs...doesnt matter what our ranking is.

we could be tamu and take 7 five star wide receivers to boast a great class but that still leaves them with a shitty defense.

If we land those guys it won't matter. We'll have a great class filled with elite guys at need positions.

Nah let Bama keep the designation as the #1 class. After getting their asses handed to them in the sugar bowl and losing to auburn they need something to fap about

No because Bama's got some overrated guys

Maybe but their class is still objectively amazing. If we had it'd probably be our best class ever.

Not saying ours isn't great, but their class is great as well, can't deny it.

We definitely will have some superstars in this class. I'm sure we will be disappointed with a few choices and will be pleasantly surprised by hopefully one or two, but no mater what, we will have an excellent class coming in with some real star power.

I agree with this, but bama class has a little bigger boobs than the rest of the supermodels the last 4 years

Meno's Paradox

Because almost all the recruiting services have shown shameless bias in favor of Bama at one time or another. When they just recruit someone they usually get a bump, because 247 goes out to see them. Take Todd Kelly Jr for instance. I think he's gonna be the 2nd best DB from this class behind Peppers, but since he committed to UT early, and because he is from a state that doesn't get evaluated as fairly, is still a four star.

That said, I think everyone would agree that CR is overrated at the least, unless they change his position to Guard. Personally I think Marlon Humphrey is as well based on what I've heard about his on field performance. On the flip side I think Scarborough should be bumped up. It just seems like Bama gets the luxury of having benefit of the doubt.
