I've heard some people say that it has no effect but I know if I was a recruit I would view it as a huge negative.

Has a recruit ever said "I'm not going to LSU because I don't want to play in front of a mostly empty stadium in the 2nd half"?

What do you recruiting experts think?

It’s a problem all over college sports. Not just LSU.

Texas sucks and people aren’t going to the games and they are #2 in recruiting same as Miami at number 3. Stop with the excuses

Not as badly as having a coach with a 3-22 record in the SEC does.

I don't think it hurts as much as hiring a DL coach with a losing career record. The board could fix both issues by firing the AD and getting someone to make a competent hire.

Probably less than losing to State by 30

I would think the empty seats would certainly have an affect. It will probably hurt more when the recruits realize LSU is not serious about football anymore.

Only if we were his first visit. Once he made a few he wouldn't even know we had issues

Or if we brought him in for Syracuse type game after a deflating loss, then he went to another schools premier home game

It's pretty bad everywhere, LSU is actually fine. There is no where better for a big game, and it's still as good as anywhere on average except for an up and coming team following some down years. Like UGA this year

If we beat state the Syracuse game would have looked much different. You don't build a 100k stadium for a program that loses by 30 with any regularity, especially against an MSU. Nobody fills a big stadium the week after that, not a single program in America comes close

Not sure it really does but one thing is for sure all the negative crap on this board including calling for coach firings isn't helping!!
