The most disappointing thing to me here is would be if he chooses ULL over Southern Methodist.
There is no doubt that SMU would do much more for his future than ULL.
Academically and degree prestige wise, they are not even on the same playing field. LSU is not even on the same playing field as SMU in that respect.
