Young man deserves his own thread. Obviously, we offered him on signing day when he was a 3 star and people like why when have 2 qbs? NOW, he’s ranked #1 QB in Texas and a top 50 player in the nation on 247. He has 1 crystal ball to who? You guessed it, LSU. Supposedly, family is all LSU. Can anyone not tell us more?? Freakish athleticism and lit up the 6A title game.. any other inside info is greatly appreciated. New favorite player in the 2020 class. Geaux Tigers! #GetHaynes

One guy posted in a thread yesterday that his brother- in-law is his cousin, and like you said supposedly that entire side of his family are LSU graduates and all very high on LSU. They want him there. I’m not sure who put in the crystal ball, but it’s good news. The guy who commented yesterday said he expects he’ll go to LSU. Looking at his highlights, stats, etc. he’s a must get. Crazy he bumped to the #2 Dual Threat in the country to 247.

Looks like King's OC/QB Coach at Longview, Chris Vallery, is a big LSU fan.

His Twitter is littered with LSU retweets..has to be a positive for the good guys.

Read the other thread for all the information you are looking for. Also, it’s reported that his dad actually graduated from Northwestern State in Louisiana, not LSU. Apparently, he was an All American offensive lineman.

According to that Twitter feed, King was named “offensive player of the year.” All state.

Click on the link on that thread and watch his highlights. Impressive, especially in the division (6A) in Texas

Interesting situation for the staff. Already have two guys committed. One has been on board for nearly a year already. The other was a national guy you went all in on with the "You're our guy" approach.

If they make a move for King, who gets told to look elsewhere? Maybe they both end up looking around.

Yes. I am sure many of us would bet that if he commits, LSU won't keep all three of them.

Can Finley play a different position?

King looks like the best prospect. He has LSU family ties. Dad played at NW LA as did O. His OC/QB coach likes LSU.

So if he commits, he likely sticks. If you can get him to commit you do it and one of the others or maybe both de-commit.

King is a take even if both of the other two decommitt.

He’s very talented. Friend of mine is the Oline coach for Westbrook (team they blasted in the state championship) I remember him raving about their QB after the game

King’s OC/QB Coach (Chris Vallery) actually played for Steve Ensminger at LA Tech

There's a connection with LSU as well, as Longview's offensive coordinator, Chris Vallery, played for LSU offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger when Ensminger coached at Louisiana Tech in the late 1980's.

They've been going after Uiagalelei after the Johnson commitment, so it shouldn't be tricky to go after King.
