People acting like he’s lying when he said CBK hasn’t been talking to him. after seeing that interview, my guess is that he does not have the type of attitude CBK is dying to have on his team. seems more like the old regime’s type

I get the impression Kelly isn't playing around with kids who have their hands out. I feel like those are the type of kids who have been quitting on us for the last 2 years.

agreed. we’ll see if this strategy pays off it’s all so unknown right now

can you build a team full of mercenaries and have winning culture consistently?

Kelly makes high character kids a priority. He’s done it everywhere he’s been. Those are the kids who will bust their arse for the program and not want to transfer on a whim. Someone else can deal with Arik Gilbert, Eli Ricks, Walter Nolen etc.

No kidding. Not sure if that qualifies as a stutter or not.

As much as I hate to say it, LSU is going to need those guys. Every other big school is doing it, LSU can't just turn a blind eye. Thankfully it does seem like steps are being taken to fix that issue.

Gabe, you nailed it. CBK wants high character and high intellect kids, like he had a ND. Those types of kids will have staying power, will be willing to put in the work and handle the adversity in the early years.

I’m all for it. I can get behind Junior and Senior laden lineups of high character kids. I’m sick of the selfish me-first kids we’ve been getting.

I know this may ruffle some feathers, but from that interview, It wouldnt hurt my feelings at all if he didnt come here. I know that the NIL money could be a game changer, but when thats all you base your decision on !!!!!Come on man

Get used to it. That’s gonna be the majority of the “elite” recruits. NIL will play a huge role in their decisions from now on

Y’all are incredibly stupid. We will get left behind if we go after the “intellectual and hard working players”.

That’s my stance too. As soon as you get paid, there’s no reason to put forth your best effort. Happens in the NFL all the time. I think Perkins is a great talent, but we’ve seen how toxic those entitled kids act at LSU recently.

What you dont see is that for every 5 star holier than thou athlete out there, there are dozens of 3 and 4 star guys that are just as talented once coached up. Also this me attitude is not good for the locker room. Eli Ricks has already proven that.!!!!!!!

He said Brian Kelly called him and he was busy. If he didnt call back, then that's on him.

nah, you can find enough people that want to play football and would enjoy the money that comes with it. You don't need kids that are there to make money and play a little football.

ETA: some of these kids are going to ruin their careers and their future over a little bit of NIL money and don't see the big picture of how much money they can make over a 5-10 year career in the NFL.
