We know obj will committ tomorrow, but with all of the guys still in play that may want to committ, how do you choose on who gets a scholie and who doesn't. The d line concerns me with Mickey, jernigan, drew and clowney and also rasco. I know we may not get any if them, but just curious.

D-line is the biggest concern IMO. We will replace Kelvin and PP, and not miss much IMO. I didn't think that before this game. We didn't do nothing on the line. Baker and TM were only effective on blitzes. Freak and Rasco can't get here quick enough. Prayers for Jernigan, Drew, and Clowney!!!!

I agree, just wonder if Les has told the kickers they may need to take a greyshirt. I think Les will pull at least one surprise as he always does.

Man sitting with 21 committs (Fordham included) and 22 after today, that only leaves one open scholly w/o having to greyshirt anybody currently committed. So if Drew, Jernigan, and Rasco all decide they want in, thats an awful lot of greyshirts. I hope they have 2-3 guys in mind if this were to somehow take place. With the backlash of the OTL segment I'd hate to see another Elliot Porter situation

I get the sanctions that were placed on us, but does being less 2 schollies mean we can only offer 23 or can we offer 25 and just have to have more attrition on the current roster to get down to 83

I thought Tannyhill was just getting rid of the ball extremely quick. His passes were quick outs, slants, and fades. Many of them had someone in his face.

Their QB impressed me the whole game up until the point we started dominating everything they did.

Can be either. For a saban, it would just mean 2 more guys lose a scholly on the back end. Signage would be uneffected.

I'm kinda on the fence on this one. On one hand, I think it's pretty bad to pull a kids meal ticket once he commits to your school. On the other hand, if he's lazy, I don't think he should be able to just give it all he has in high school, and then retire to college.

We need a DE and a DT if Copeland is at FB permanently, right?

Plus, with that rumor of Greg Robinson switching on the last day, do we have room for him? I thought his ship sailed with Jonah Austin commmitted.

Have you given any thought to exactly what "asking anyone (let alone a kicker) to gray shirt" does to the kid and his family? To my knowledge, for the 2011 season, LSU has only 1 kicker and 1 punter under scholarship. Both 2010 team K & P are seniors and graduating. Did highly touted 2010 punter Brad Wing ever make it to campus? Was he gray shirted this past season?

I just saw that James Hairston, 2011 class kicker, commited to LSU. Now you want to tell that kid that he needs to gray shirt? When a kicker commits to a school, he's taking himself off the market. Unlike most other positions, a college will scholarship only one K/P every couple years. If a K/P accepts a scholarship, then is asked to gray shirt he's left with very few options. The chances of de-commiting, and getting another offer is very slim. Most K/P only get 1-2 offers if any! There are exceptions (a huge one in the 2011 class, but even he has yet to accept any offer). But if a K/P is not offered by the end of the month, he has a very slight chance of being anything but a walk-on if he really wants to play next year. And oh, BTW, his parents now have to come up with the funding to pay for school, and all the expense that goes with it! This kind of talk makes me real glad about my son's decision!

After watching Greg Robinson play in the recent All-Star game, I'm glad he committed to Auburn.LSU needs to concentrate on Def. Lineman or a great LB with the remaining scholarships.Ethan Hutson from Destrehan>Greg Robinson.
