81 posts too many.

Stick to a few bullet points and you will receive better responses.

The dude makes a decent point and it pertaining to "some" of the recruits - not all. I wouldn't have the staff do anything differently in getting on these kids early, though. I think CLM suffers from the fact that he tries to recruit the Louisiana kids first and gives them all the time they need to commit. When they don't commit late in the game, it unfortunately puts the staff in a bit of a scramble mode.

I still like the class being put together and the point that the other poster made about our focusing on the ones that we don't get it has a lot of validity.

Then we should step it up on oos recruiting and go grab thoughs wanting to leave like ours do...... At least find the in state guys that want to stay close to home and the guys oos that want to leave home and go for those, but still recruit the others but know that they may be leaving. I mean your not spending a ton of money on the instate guys.

Some of you (excepts those who didn't waste time reading the post) missed the point. I didn't bitch about our class, which I think is excellent and likely to get better. I do think that it's important to understand why a kid our staff obviously wants chooses to go elsewhere, so that if factors within our control are the cause, they can be addressed. I don't pretend to have the answers. Just pointing out one possibility.

There are some good points in the OP. Something is wrong, the talent level in this state this year is unprecedented and yet we now are concerned if we get to 25 even with the OOS kids we have? Maybe its just a weird year our staff has always recruited well. We will see in February.

I believe it comes down to resources...How to you grab Juice but don't secure Greg Robinson or Travon Reed...This was during a time when our recruiting momentum should have been at its highest...I am not sure how much young athletes are exposed to LSU...If they don't grow up LSU fans, they learn of LSU overtime, maybe have a bit more knowledge of LSU than other schools, but if we can't match resources, we will lose out from time to time...

I still blame espn for our recruiting woes. These young teenagers get to see these games and the decisions made by our coaching staff during games, ala Nat'l championship beatdown. It has to have some kind of bearing come decision time, and I would think it would be very negative.. And I am ducking

Our coaches were very good in that category.
