It seems like a lifetime ago but only 10 years ago this time LSU was welcoming a new QB that was going to take the world by storm.

quote:

It's easy to get caught up in absolutes on National Signing Day, which has become a holiday of sorts for college football junkies. There are winners and there are losers. The official decision of where the No. 1 high school quarterback recruit in the nation will attend college was a big deal, and on National Signing Day in 2005, Ryan Perrilloux sat in front of a media circus at a nationally televised press conference and made news. He switched his commitment from Texas to LSU.

I remember this day and if only it could have been different.

There was no mistaking the talent, just wish he could have gotten his head screwed on straight.

Its just a reminder of what can happen when recruits feel they are on top of the world or invincible / complacent.

He was probably one of the greatest athletes I've ever feasted my eyes on. Easily the next LSU great, but instead, we got Andrew Hatch
