2) Think about #1...now think about when you were coming out of high school. If you had the opportunity to go anywhere after being under Mom's (and maybe Dad's) thumb, would you go out of state, or stay "close to home?

I was never under my parents thumb. They pretty much let me do whatever I wanted when I was in high school. If I would have been offered the chance to be a hero in front of my parents, my hometown and my home state I would have jumped at the chance.

think this is it. Why go somewhere and share the spotlight with others when it is all about me. Good post. Reflects my feelings exactly.

Hell I left my state for college. I wanted to get out and blaze my own path. I can't fault them for not choosing LSU

I understand what you're getting at, but how do you "blaze your own path" by just going to another college OOS? Is your family a legacy at the in state college and did amazing things that you'd have to try to meet or exceed their accomplishments? If not I think you're just being silly and making an excuse about wanting to simply just go someplace else. Why do people make these excuses instead just telling it like it is?

Also what he said is a bit silly too. You're not just one of five and that naive thinking is simple minded. Are you or are you not listed as a top 3 of your position? Are you competing with your position or 21 others?

If you go to Bama, you're one of 4, TAMU one of 3, UF, one of 2. Stop making excuses for these kids. They just wanted to go for whatever reasons whether they be stupid or smart. I have no problem with their decisions because they have the talent and are individuals just like me with the right given unto themselves to do what they want. #3 is dumb logic and #2 only makes sense if your parent is willing to drive an hour+ out to pester you every weekend. I can understand if you're in the same city, but really?

Have no problem with kids going out of state. Just say so. Don't keep leading Lsu on and taking the free visits, etc. then when it counts stab us in the back.

Sorry man....the fact that we have this board is feeding this. It will only get worse. These kids live for this and we throw gas on the fire.

People can sugar coat this any way they want but LSU is slipping.
I might could see your point if LSU wasn't one of the most successful FBS programs in the last 10 years.
The only thing slipping is honor in men, and that's the sugarcoating I see mostly in this thread.
