“It really started all the first week he took over. All the commits had a group chat and we talked about this. Obviously it was tough seeing Les [Miles] and Cam [Cameron] get fired,” Brennan said. “Especially as a recruit, those were the two big guys in the LSU program. But Coach O just kind of took over and filled some really big shoes. As recruit when you see him win three straight games, two of which were in the SEC, that’s pretty big for a guy coming in and doing that. We’ve been to the games as a recruiting class and you just see the change. You can feel the energy level change. I feel like Coach O brings a lot more energy and is a lot more enthusiastic.
quote:

“He interacts more with the players in the locker room. He’s yelling and getting them fired up and I feel like that carries over on to the field. I didn’t see that before. I wouldn’t say it was quiet in the locker room, but I didn’t feel like there was much interaction between coach Les and the players. It was kind of like, they ran off the field and they just did what they did. I feel like it’s just been great the last three weeks and there’s another big test this week. I’m just excited to get down there and just be in an environment that I’ve never been in before and hopefully we’ll get the outcome we want.”
quote:

“Obviously at the beginning there was talk of Jimbo [Fisher] and Tom Herman but things have kind of died down as the weeks have progressed and as LSU kept winning. I feel like as a recruiting class and guys that have come down on visits, we’d be just fine with Coach O taking over. I just feel like having the same staff, you know, they’ve been together for many years now, so I feel like that would be a good thing. Just build from there instead of someone starting at ground level and working their way up.”

If he pulls off the W tomorrow, there should be no debating.

This is a recruiting post that should also be posted on the rant. This is some really good stuff here.

Just because he is full of energy does not mean he can run a program the size of LSU. He couldn't do it at Ole Miss, but hey he is Cajun so that is all that counts.

You're right. We should focus just on his coaching tenure 10 years ago and ignore the fact that he has gone 9-2 since then at two separate power-5 schools with teams that were under-performing and had just fired their coaches.

By no means am I on the hire Orgeron train. However, I think the second part of your statement is a valid point. If we are going to talk about his record at Ole Miss we also need to discuss that he adapted/changed and has shown that he can take over top programs and lead them to victory. I think we need to look at both records.

To me the biggest indication of future events is what has happened in the past. When you look at both of those records it's clear to see that he has adjusted whatever he has needed to and is trending upward. The recruiting has always been there. It's looking more more like the management skills, needed of a head coach, are there now.

I don't think the talent level he inherited at Old Piss approaches what he has here. I bet a Cajun recruiting in Mississippi wouldn't have quiet the clout as a Cajun recruiting Louisiana . I hope he gets the job. The contract could be for say 2 years, with an option for a third. No $4 million a year either. It's his dream job. give him a chance !!

I love the guy. I won't be mad i he gets the job, but I won't fault LSU if they hire a bigger name.

i somewhat feel the same way... for me, it's Fisher or O... if it's Fisher, I hope he can keep everyone else on staff.... if it's O, i'm hoping he can hire a great OC...

I think we need an offense minded coach.
Defense is already there.

I hope so. Ideally, we get Jimbo and O goes back to Dline and Aranda stays. Hard to imagine O staying in that scenario, but a guy can wish.

Last night proved my point. His game plan was exactly the same as Les Miles' game plan vs. Bama. Why was he running Fournette into Bama's strength and not spreading the offense out?

LSU ran a ton of 3-4 even 5 receiver sets last night.
