So a D3 university in Mississippi is mad that it can't host a camp with UT in Louisiana? No mention of all the schools invited to attend LSU camp a couple of weeks ago..

LOL, the funny part is the group of people who are really pissed about the cancellations are... LOUISIANA HIGH SCHOOL COACHES!

This will do more damage to Orgeron in recruiting than simply letting Texas hold a camp there. It's not like Texas camping in Louisiana would cause them to steal all of LSU's recruits, angering local high school coaches by not letting their players get exposure to other universities (not everyone goes to LSU) on the other hand could do a lot.

Keep it up, Orgeron! Keep winning (losing) those important hearts and minds!

Well if that happens, Orgeron can take more Texas players right?

If Hal & Herman gave a Damn about getting kids exposure then UT would simply be uninvited and the camp would go on as planned w/plenty OOS schools. But Nooo they'd rather have their camp cancelled than tell UT stay home.

LSU would gladly let 110 of the 128 D1 schools in La to camp... but Sure, keep saying they're the bad guys.

If Saban was doing this, everyone would be calling it ruthless and a vulgar display of power, yet just another reason the man wins and is a great college coach. You people can frick right off, especially Texas fan, since we have been and will be cherry picking talent from your state for years to come.

Yea the part about exposure is BS if your not talented enough for LSU, then your probably not good enough for Texas,so that point is mute.

I've been camping all month and when these big schools go to these satellite camps they aren't coming to scout. They have invited a kid or two who they want to get more in on. At the USF Camp my pops literally watched Brent Key (oline coach alabama) who was supposed to be coaching at the camp stand next to this 4 star lineman who wasn't working out and talk to him from 10 to 2.

This also happened at the West Georgia camp featuring Minnesota. PJ Fleck gave this whole speech about how he was a -2 star, then when the camp started he pulled two kids aside to have a special private workout in the stadium.

So coach O is doing amazing because Texas isn't coming down here looking for sleepers. They wanted a chance to court some big fish that wouldn't be able to make it on campus multiple times this summer. If other schools are smart they follow suit.

ETA: this is the kid Brent Key was on LINK
They want him bad

Actually now these satellite camps are hurting the kids who aren't good enough for the big schools.
Let's say Urban Myer and Ohio State go to a camp in Georgia at a D3 school. Before the new rules that D3 school would have 100 to 150 kids at a camp. Now word gets out OSU will be there that automatically triples attendance at the least. In a 2 to 4 hour setting not very many kids will be getting evaluated; when it's 40 kids to one coach.

Most colleges already know who they want anyways. When I go I always call the coach to let them know I will be there and then they look for you kiss your butt etc. If Johnny Joe shows up to the camp without being in contact with anybody, runs an average 40 that would get him attention any other year at a D3 level and is inconsistent in drills and one on ones; this person performance is watered down by the kids on the cusp of D1 level. Who a D3 has no shot with, but are fawning over because of their performance.

These satellite camps have turned into a money drop for the small schools that used to have 100 kids to a camp. Now that 400 kids show up at a camp that cost $50 a head, well you do the math. I think they should go back to the way it was before if everyone is worried about exposure because right now the best form of exposure is your social media.

You post a vid of you dominating say a 5 star player; which you wouldn't get at a satellite camp because those guys are just hanging out, and boom it goes viral then Coach insert name follows you on said platform watches your hudl calls your coach and invites you to campus and now you're being recruited.

So O doesn't have the pulse of the coaches? Be critical all you want of O as a head coach, but as a recruiter? Just stfu

So the coaches he pissed off are a former player who we got Ed Alexander from and a guy who sent his son to Texas bc he couldn't get an LSU offer? But you go ahead and broadly generalize the entire La high school coaching community that way we know not to take you seriously.
