I get that we don't have any DT this cycle, but are we just forgetting that we actually have a ton of studs on DL. Just because they didn't start as freshman over Freak, doesn't mean they are busts.
I don't think for a minute Gilmore, Herron, Neal, etc are busts. I saw Neal and Herron in person, I expect just the opposite.

BUT... LSU for it's whole defense to work right needs 5 very good DTs. A stud DE is almost necessary. Without that the LB's will always struggle somewhat. So it's not about busts, it's about A) catching up B) maintaining. With the DB and LB haul over the next two years last year and this year is necessary to get a good haul(s) to put the pieces together for a NCG run.

Y'all don't forget Godchaux. He is a DT all the way.

Godchaux and Valentine would be a great DT haul for this class.

LSU=Champions DT Valentine decommits from UM, LSU is leader It'll be a big day for uncommitted/other school commits that are visiting LSU. The list is impressive. Potential for commits and flips there.

So, just a POTENTIAL big day? We had one of those Thursday.

It looked like he something concrete. Nevermind.

From what I understand (someone correct me if I'm wrong), Valentine is a core credit shy to enroll in Miami, but is ok where he stands to enroll at LSU. This may have something to do with his decision . Naturally, Ego & Freak leaving makes us more enticing, & from what I've heard, Valentine has really bonded with Paris, Godchaux & Quinn at Army All American game.

Oh boy.

This would be a HUGE get. Valentine is a great run stuffer.

If we can hold the LOS without blitzing our defense will return to the days of 2011. No doubt.

Regarding Valentine's grades and eligibility:

His grades are good. Nothing to be worried about there. I believe he will need to take some classes in the summer to complete his number of classes. Also, Miami requires more foreign language than LSU.
