huge sense of urgency with the QB situation. He is knocking on doors in all corners trying to get some late commits. I think he finally realizes it's either better QB play or he'll be asked to hit the road.

Les is more on this forum. Have you ever thought that maybe he is learning what works and doesn't and job or no job he is just trying to make his team better?! I have said it 1000 times and I'll say it again, it cannot be overstated what perilloux did to Lsu and the qb situation. It has set us back years. That wasn't miles fault. If he plays, and commits to getting better, we likely have at least one more natty, no one is talking about miles, and each of the last few generations of qbs would have had time to develop. Not to mention the fact that the perception you rantards perpetrate wouldn't exist and we would recruit better.

Secondly, with all that said, it is hard to forget how good these tigers have been. We haven't lost a non conference game in over a decade. Take this year for example, if we don't play bama we likely finish 13-0 or 12-1. And yes, there is zero doubt we beat arky if we are still in natty race. Of all the schools in the country, we have been the closest to the bad guys. We even beat them and were undefeated one of the years they won natty. I still believe we will get over the hump, and soon. Harris will be better next year and we bring back some monsters. Beyond that, it's like winning a billion dollars but losing your family. It just doesn't mean as much, if anything. Miles is one of us now. I don't want to win it without him.

Sorry for the lengthy rambling monologue, but I can't take the miles bash.

Seems like they're recruiting exclusively pro style QBs

Lowell Narcisse is not a pro-style QB

I understand what your saying, I really like Miles and want him to succeed here but you sure have a lot of ifs, coulda, woulda, shouldas in your argument. One recruit shouldn't set us back 10 years, and what about post Mett?, by your reasoning that should have turned things around, the next guys should have been being groomed to take over after he left....I like Miles but OC/QB coach hiring, recruiting talent and numbers at QB, and Quality Control on offense are his responsibilities. He's failed at those things, I like him but those are facts

Guys he and his staff have no clue about QB development. Bama doesn't get held hostage by one QB ever Saban doesn't play that those games.

I love LSU but have zero faith that CLM will improve our offense or use any ideas that Clemson showed us to beat Bama.

I understand what you are saying too. However, it hasn't been a decade with perilloux. Furthermore, that series of events led to a snowball of events that led to a generation of qbs that weren't prepared. We kept playing catch up. I actually believe that we have just now caught up with a seasoned junior qb next year, and with hopefully a good recruit coming. We all want to see the qb succeed more, don't get me wrong, but there have been circumstances.

Secondly, I'm not making if statements to make excuses about bama: they have beat us. What I am saying is that in any other conference we own that conference. We aren't that far behind bama, and before we go changing coaching staffs for "better coaches" you better consider the fact that they may not be any better. Jimbo, for instance, is a fine coach. But I am 100% sure that he would have lost to bama by 30 this year, and I'm 90% sure we would have beat him. FSU is a top tier school with a supposed top tier coach. Get it? I would agree with the argument that Lsu has access to in state talent without competition unlike any other school. But don't kid yourself into thinking these coaches aren't a huge reason we keep the talent, develop the talent into nfl stars, and win. I can't wait to see the look on little Nicky's face when we finally pass him, and we will.

Clemson lost. We have been much closer than Clemson in over half of our last 5 meetings.
Win

They won big
Last second loss

Last second loss

Most wins last 10 years---in hardest division in football and we have to play uf annually

2. Ohio State — 110 wins
3. Alabama — 107 wins
4. Oregon — 106 wins
5. LSU — 103 wins

If LSU lands Narcisse next year LSU should be ok. He can start as a sophomore.

Of course I think LSU needs a quarterback with this class too.

Please man!! Les has had almost 8 years to fix the QB spot after Perrilloux got kicked off the team in May 2008... 8 Years!!!! 8 recruiting classes and 10-16 QB's to get it right. Not bashing him on everything but he goes after duel threat QB's to run a pound it out mostly One man WR sets...

That's ridiculous. Les' future will be decided in the next two years. None of these QB recruits will see the field in the next two years. Like it or not Harris will be the deciding factor at QB.

If Harris does well the next two years Les will coach out his contract. If not, Les will be gone.
