getting only 1 wr in this class isn't good.

Why? We signed four last year. Next year the top prospect in the state will be a WR. We are sitting pretty with him. Calhoun and Claiborne can play WR if need be. I don't see why this is such a loss.

both coaches signed excellent classes and to say that either coach "throttled" the other is off base.

It isn't. It's a gain IMO.

Again, the only reason anyone gives a shite is because:

- He went to Bama
- He cost us the RNC

End of story.

Sentimore said that LSU didn't recruit him very hard, although he preferred to go to LSU.

We did lose out on Richardson.

If it was to get away from competetion, then he is a moron.

I agree, if anything I'm more concerned we only signed 1 RB, we have depth at WR beyond 2009, but after KW and CS leave next year, we will be thin at RB.

Sorry about the "ghost-post". I guess my hands are twitchy after today.

Yeah, that's what they reported live from here today.

I don't quite understand the Randle situation..., especially the Benton angle, but I surmise that there were strong personalities in the family that delayed the commitment, and who knows.

But, the Bell stunt... that's a punk. Pure and simple.

You all have to excuse me, I am just pissed that LSU wanted to take 4 WR in this class and because of Saban, or Randle, or whoeverthefrick, they ended up with one.

There were 3 WRs who decided to go to school in the state of Alabama today on account of Rueben Randle coming to LSU.

Benton
Kelly
Bell

I'll take the one who's scaring the rest off and be damn happy.

RR was scared of Benton supposedly

No one throttled anybody.

Saban proved again that he is a stellar recruiter when he has a nearby recruiting base and a football school to recruit to.

Miles proved that he is no ones 2nd choice as coach when he won 11 games 3 years in a row and the MNC. Now he has proved the same in recruiting with this top flight class.

I guarantee you Miles is not personally worried about Nick Saban and vice versa. They are concerned only about their own program and rightly so. Anything contrary to that is simply playing up to the fans.

why do you care so much about that? Have you looked at the depth chart for WR's. Bell would have been buried on it.

Why'd the coaches waste over a year recruiting these guys, offering them full rides if they don't want them here?

Did Saban throttle Miles head-to-head? Taking Bell directly from LSU and players that both teams recruited like Sentimore, Lacey, Richardson. LSU did manage to hold on to a lot of the guys from Louisiana that both teams wanted, but got waxed head-to-head on a bunch.

I love comments like this. LSU got every player they wanted, probably 7 of Bama recruits won't qualify, Bama oversigns by 15 players... and
Miles supposedly loses head to head.

LSU players are fully qualified
LSU does not intentionally oversign

LSU got exactly what they needed. The rest are
filling round pegs into not so round circles.

LSU, based on wants, needs and talent signed... is the experts #1 class. No amount of arse kissing by Ohio State or Bama classes can change that. We don;t sign 32 players like Bama did last year, or 37 like the Rebs did. Saban ONLY got the LSU kids that were not LSU's first choice. The only exception/question is Kelly, who simply felt there was too much WR talent at LSU to play. I don't blame him for taking the easy way out.

We have probably more character on this class. than any class in the history of LSU, and it's also the most talented. I'll take 100 Sheps before 100 Trent Richardsons any day. TR will probably be sharing an apartment/cell with Glen Coffee soon enough.

And this might be why ESPN and Sporting News think we're the best. No questionmarks on the field, ot in the classroom, or if they'll man up when they have to.

Miles did a better job than Saban.
And everyone else. And they know it.

We wanted him... it's just a question of how much we're trying to lock down the state, get depth and competition at a position versus getting the player we want more when some kid starts dictating to us who we're recruiting that he'll be competing against.

Lacy will be more of a headache for Bama than Cecil Collins and RP were for us.
