What a shitty day for recruiting then.

I'd have to think the longer he doesn't say where he's committed...the better for us. Means the AU win is wearing off in his mind and he'll collect his senses and see LSU is the better opportunity for him in the future. He can't forget where his heart is.

D'haquille Williams will be reaffirming his commitment to Auburn, eventually sign, enroll early, and share a dorm with his JuCo teammate and fellow commitment Derrick Moncrief.

He's Auburn bound.

legit question, although it may sound like a flame:

what factors caused the low passing yards this year for Auburn's offense?

1 Malzahn's schemes
2 Marshall's arm
3 Lack of quality WRs
4 some combination of the 3 or something else?

because if it's the third one I can see easily why Quille is making this decision

If quille really is auburn bound, how good is he at run blocking?

We shall see. he is a hard one to get a legitimate read on.

These two items dont jive. I would say based on the first part, he's all Aubie.

Maybe he just hates Bama as much as we all do?

Quick question. Is this the same scheme he ran when Cam was there? I could've sworn they threw the ball a lot more. Even though there was a lot of read option plays. I feel like Malzahn is trying to feed Quille that offense. He's saying we're moving the offense back in that direction and Marshall's arm will improve with a year under his belt. Which means you will be the #1 wideout.

I seriously doubt Marshall will get better at throwing. The kid just isn't a QB, but he can make throws at times. At the end of the day I think we land Quille.

williams is a wr and it can be tough to get balls to a wr in double coverage in the sec. he will be good but not game changing. also, no one has ever figured out how to keep quille on the field. he may blow up at any time and get tossed or even cost you a game.

i still want him at LSU but as a 1 year guy he is just another piect and not THE PIECE.

I was thinking the same thing.

I'm tempted to post this question on the SEC rant but I really don't want people to think I'm flaming.

Now I'm going to force myself to look at Cam Newton Highlights.

No, they touched on it during the game, Guz changed it up to run heavy dive because Marshall was more of an athlete than QB

Not sure there's ever been a thread on the SECr that ISNT a flame. I hate that board.

Yeah, it's nearly an identical scheme. During the Georgia game they showed a side by shot of different plays from 2010 right next to 2013.
Newton = Marshall
McCallab = (can't remember his name...the sweep guy..I think Ricardo?)
Dyer = Mason

They ran that "triple option" stuff all day with those three guys in both years. That said, I do think they threw it a bit more in 2010 than in 2013.

Thanks brah. Now it makes sense why they were pushing so hard for Brandon Harris. They tryed to sell him on being there next Cam, but it backfired. Their offense will remain run heavy for the next year or two.

Umm.. Yeah. Safe to say they threw it a good bit more in 2010 with Newton.

Marshall might have like 1,500 yards passing

Marshall. Malazahn has shown he will fling the ball around when he has a capable QB. Though, it's a very basic one-read type of passing scheme. That's how he used it for Cam Newton at least.

Well, I did point out the difference
I'll always remember being at auburn when we played them, and having a sigh of relief when they dropped back to pass. Pretty sure they only tried like 10 times the entire game.
Then again Newton did throw 30 TDs that year.

#3, kind of. We have a few quality receivers (I think Coates still leads the nation in yards per catch), but they aren't incredibly reliable.

Gus tailors his offenses to his playmakers. He has done this at every school he has been at. Marshall's arm strength has never been in question, and his accuracy has improved as he has gotten more comfortable with the playbook (he got on campus in August). We've also been in a couple games where we were just trying to run out the clock for an entire half (WCU, FAU, Arkansas and Tennessee in particular), so passing the ball wouldn't have been the smartest thing to do.
