Does he realize that all the LBers we are bringing in are likely OLB or will move down to DE? I think he is the only MLB we are taking this year and then Claiborne next year

He stated guys already on the roster and doesn't see how he would play early at LSU. I'm not sure he has any idea we graduate 2 Of our 3 starting LB's and hatcher used to start so technically you could say all 3.

if depth is an issue than bama should definetly be out of the race, right, considering number of jack lbs they recurit.

If Denzel wants to be a tiger, he needs to man up and be ready and willing to compete for a position. You're not going to get handed anything, but Les Miles and Chief have proven time and time again that if you are ready to play, you will play early. There is a lot of opportunity for Devall to play early as a rush OLB; even if he doesn't step onto the field from day 1, there's nothing wrong with being patient and learning from the best LB coach in the country while honing your skills.

From what his Dad told me (on Tuesday) LSU is starting to pull ahead. Mostly because of the lack of depth, We play young guys, and he knows how good the future is looking. Plus he really likes Chavis too. He doesn't want to be too far from home and RR is someone he really looks up to. I feel like he's ours to lose at this point and Les is putting in the time to get this guy. They talk for an hour 1-2 times a week.

I don't see how Deval can ignore LSU's depth chart. How can he say we have depth at LB...
Even with guys coming in this class they're hybrids right now. Some might not even be LB. We don't really have a true MLB in this class and Granier is going to be coming off a major injury. If he doesn't grayshirt. If he picks Bama, how could that even be a argument? Sounds like he is making a excuse to me.
If you're going to pick Bama, just do it already. If you have serious concerns about LSU's depth chart...please sit down with the coaching staff and compare depth charts...Bama is loaded and it isn't even close.
