Honestly man if he hasn't committed to Bama yet, what's taking him so long? If he's so sold on Bama and such a Bama lock why hasn't he tried to lock down his spot?

We're not out of it for this kid in the slightest and the losses of Guidry and now Ausbon only help our cause even more. Bringing in a Lane Kiffen or another well known OC that will come in and toss it around more will seal it for Smith to LSU IMO

Is Devanta Smith better than Jhamon Ausbon?

It's Devonta Smith. Jimmy has been saying LSU for the past month.

He's ranked higher, but Ausbon is very good. Imo Smith has a higher ceiling but ausbon at 6'2 215 can immediately play at most places. Smith is probably more athletic and a better route runner tho.

Would make sense why Jhamon Ausbon decommitted. Maybe he knew something was up.

Ausbon will come in more ready to play right away and would've been perfect for Miles's system of block for two downs then try to make a circus catch in traffic, but Smith is a stud and has first round potential a couple years down the road.

He cooks people in one on one situations and reminds me a lot of Odell the way he runs so smoothly, runs great routes, and makes violent/calculated cuts that leave DBs looking silly.

He would be a huge get and would fit well with what were hopefully moving more towards on offense

And he would also give us an in with some 2018/2019 kids that are coming from that same area of the state, it might get hard to pull those guys if they see both Carter and Smith go to Bama ahead of them

We don't need immediate help at WR.
We stacked.

That's what I'm saying man. Neither one of them is gonna jump the guys we have now, at least right away. Smith can develop for a year or two then be ready to shine in his money year

Yep
He would kill it in a spread offense. Hopefully the next staff can utilize the smaller WRs better.

I honestly hope Smith changes his mind and stays home. However, from what i have heard from people with him during his visit a few weeks ago i wouldn't count on that.

As I said in the Ausbon decommitted thread thread... They told him Smith is coming.

Smith runs clean routes like Juice, very fluid.
