I think this is his recruiting pitch to some degree. He's not cheating, all he has to say is look what LSU did with JJ and a few good recruits. What do you think LSU can be with a starting 5 and some bench players who are very good with our starting 5 and now you have a coach who pushes you to get your full potential out of you. I've been successful everywhere I've been and now I'll have the big name players to help me further that success. You want to be a part of that?

I'm sure the news that came out is helping him as well. He can say, I know LSU is clean, you don't have to worry about that here. We'll just out work the blue bloods to become one our selves. Then he could go on about the history or LSU basketball, and how when there is a great coach, who can bring great players in, the program is a final 4 program. GT

It’s abour damn time ??.

I hope wade wants to turn LSU into s perineal power. Hopefully we arent a stepping stone . Although JJ was HORRIBLE I honestly think Ben Simmons coming here helped recruiting for some reason . Anytime you have a #1 pick these primadonnas pick up on it .

Will wade is gonna bring LSU basketball to the promised land . Would complete the big 3 , as far as National Champions.

I just can't help remember when Ole Miss magically started getting stellar recruiting classes in football. And the first instincts of everyone turned out to be true.

We literally had an equivalent recruiting class three years ago

SINCE THE LATE 70S (AND BEFORE) LSU HAS GOTTEN ELITE BASKETBALL PLAYERS REGULARLY. THIS IS NOT UNUSUAL.

Johnny Jones pulled in two top 10 recruiting classes just a few years after LSU won 5 SEC games (combined) in two years. It's all about connections.

Smart is a BR kid.
Reid's girlfriend is on the women's team.
One of LSU's assistants is big in the Florida recruiting scene (Days)

Wade is able to sell a complete program turnover (i.e. immediate playing time) Plus, LSU is only returning two players over 6'6" next season (Kiir and Bigby-Williams). There are a ton of minutes available for incoming front-court players (i.e. Days and Reid)

The ONLY out of nowhere signing is Waters from Connecticut. But that situation was a bit unusual from the get go in that he was a top-50 player who waited so long to sign. Was going to go to Georgetown until they made a coaching change.

As you can see recently, college basketball recruiting is largely about connections (many shady connections). Thus far, Wade has been able to put the right guys in place to get good recruits.

LSU recruiting has always had the potential to land big names. This is not out of the ordinary.

yes LSU has been a roller coaster since the 70s in basketball, but having a top 3 recruiting class after a year of winning just two SEC games is not "regular"

2018 is a very surprising and crazy year of recruiting for LSU basketball, regardless of how we used to get elite recruits decades ago

Seeing as how Will Wade is lighting it up on the recruiting trail, we should go ahead and extend Joe Alleva's contract for making such a terrific hire.

Who's with me?

Guys?

Stromile, j. martin, j.mickey, anthony randolph, ben, blakeny. These are ELITE RECRUITS we have signed in the last dozen years, more than most anybody except the blue bloods. I am sure I've forgotten a couple also. LSU gets these guys on the regular. Besides Dale, we have never had the coach; this just in: NOW WE DO!!

We were 10th in 2015, 6th in 2013, 3rd in 2003.

Let's see where this class finishes, but it's not unprecedented for us to land top ten classes.
