I guess that means Wing won't be on campus this Fall.

alton is one of the most talented punters that we have come across in years. A exceptional athlete with a great leg and huge potential. Has only scratched the surface of what he will become and is already ranked #1 in the nation. The best JC punting prospect in the nation and the overall #1 as of 7-9-10. Has all the tools to dominate at the D1A level. OFFER NOW!!!

Add commit to the title please.

quote:

Punting: Punt competition winners were Dalton Botts (2011 - JUCO - Calif.) and Will Monday (2011 - Ga.). Dalton is by far the best available national punting prospect at this time. Will Monday is already verbally committed to Duke University. Other punters that had a solid day included Kris Albarado (2011 - La.), Matt Williams (2011 - JUCO - Calif.), Ian Campbell (2011 - JUCO - Calif.), Greg Colquitt (2011 - N.C.) and Chase Tenpenny (2011 - JUCO - Kan.). Some of the top combo players were Alex Howell (2011 - S.C.), Riley Lyons (2011 - Ga.), James Hairston (2011 - Texas), Anthony DiPaula (2011 - N.J.) and Bradley Pinion (2012 - N.C.).

quote:

Punting: Dalton Botts (2011 - JUCO - Calif.) was by far the standout punter. He left no doubt that he should be the next national punter to be offered a scholarship. University of Florida commit Kyle Christy (2011 - Ind.) and Duke University commit Will Monday (2011 - Ga.) were also impressive. Ian Campbell (2011 - JUCO - Calif.) showed why he is one of the top junior college punters in America.

BTW, I love how scout didn't even bother searching for a picture of the kid. Probably doesn't even know what he looks like.

its all part of a Miles sky kick strategy where opponents get to return the ball to the 40 but we instill fear in their return men by forcing them to return a kick

Sounds like he has a load of potential. Really like
the pickup since it's completely necessary now that Wing cant get by the clearinghouse. I hope we can resign Wing out of JUCO for the 2012 class to eventually replace this guy.

That's the first thing I thought of- he is not going to be cleared, & Miles wasn't going to wait & pass up on another outstanding punter...

This guy averages 34 yards per punt last season and he's listed as the #1 punter? What am I missing?

Don't know how he got to only 34 yards a punt but during that kicking camp they said he was booting it 50+ yards and had hang times north of 5 seconds. That's impressive. Maybe he just needed some proper punting instruction.

Well hopefully he did improve and just isn't a great practice punter.

How many scholarship kickers does that make for us?

For 2011? 1, just Botts

Alleman is a walk-on and will probably take over for Jasper
