I know he adopted Bruce Jordan awhile back but here is a really cool recent article on Pat Swilling adopting a kid who was in a bad situation:

Pretty much a more drastic Blindside story

Saw him play this year, think he's going to be really good.
Really impressed with Pat Swilling, he was kind of a prick in his playing days.

Yeah, Bruce's highlights are very impressive for a freshman

Swilling is still part of the best LB corps in NFL history and no one is going to change that opinion of mine. The only ones that come close to the Dome Patrol are the mid 90s Steelers that had Greg Lloyd, Kevin Green and Levon Kirkland and the Giants with Taylor, Carson and Banks

A few years ago I had the pleasure to work for Pat.He is a real nice guy.He was trying to clean up New Orleans east and fix a lot of the blighted areas. He was really determined to help what I believed to be a helpless area.

Dude, thank you so much for posting that positive article, instead of doom n gloom on here. As a Brother Martin grad, it gives me a further sense of pride in my school. Angels are amongst us, no doubt

No problem. I'm not a full-on Positiger but it just bugs me that almost every thread on here either starts of negative/bashing or turns into that at some point, and then that frustration boils over and is unleashed onto undeserving peoples on this board

Gives me hope in humanity. Glad to see he is on the right track and hope he has continued success in the classroom and on the court/field.

No doubt! Sucks that those Saints teams just happened to be at the same time Frisco, NYG, and were at their best ever. We would dominate Frisco, but never have enough Offense to put them away, be up by six with a minute to play and Montana would do surgery on our not so great secondary, smh, and lose...
I used to see Swilling a lot off the field and he was arrogant, but he's done nice things since then.

true, and worthy comparisons. And certainly, the Dome Patrol is the best 3-4 defense LB corp ever. I think those other 2 were 4-3 schemes.

Even if true, it won't stay that way for long
