Obviously not an Elite prospect but has some a big arm, with good mobility and will stand in the pocket. His feet are horrible sometimes, but plenty of time to learn that..

He's currently on campus...I think we take his commit if he wants to come.

Will he garner any attention from LSU?

I think he's got a lot of upside if he's given time to develop in a pro style system. So he could end up being really good at Arky if he gets to red shirt and doesn't get rushed on to the field.

The issue with LSU is that even if we do offer, how does he feel about a two QB class? Would he be Arky's only QB?

I think he's been mostly in a spread through high school, which is why I'm saying a redshirt would be very beneficial.

I don't know. The recent Diggs offer suggests to me they are doubling down on Haskins.

I don't think he would see the field anytime soon to be honest...but as you said he has a lot of upside.

Current Depth (Recruit Rank for Comparison):

RS SR B Allen 4*
RS SO A Allen 3*
RS FR Rafe Peavey 4*
TF EE Ty Storey 4*

Yeah he would be the only QB in our class. Also, he wouldn't be forced in to immediate action since there would already be three other 4* QB's ahead of him. One junior, one sophomore and one RS freshman.

Just for clarification, not that I think anyone took what I said this way but:

I don't think there is anything wrong with a kid wanting to be the only QB in their signing class. These kids need to find the best fit and the best opportunity for success for them.

I'm good friends with the dad of the qb for stm (Bellamy. For the Arkansas fans STM is another local high school and also the rival to the high school Cole goes to). They are very best friends, both families have been close friends for years. I had a drink with him on the Sunday of the Masters and in conversations with him he said and i'm paraphrasing.

Right now Cole is all Arkansas, they were the first school to really heat up on him, he likes the coaches and the style of offense they play (biggest factor for him). Leaving home is not a problem and living away is not a problem, he actually wouldn't mind it. As for LSU he really didn't have much to say in terms of his knowledge with how much Cole interacts with them and how interested he is with going to school there etc. just tifwiw.

I don't think he'll get an LSU offer. Not because he's not good enough, but I think it's clear he's not the type of QB the staff is looking at for the future.

not a problem. i was able to see this kid play in person and i can tell you whoever lands him will get an absolute diamond in the rough. you wont have to worry about him in terms of school, he stays out of trouble (with exception to the incident a few years ago regarding the murder of his friend. yes i know, it sounds horrible but he was just at the wrong place at the wrong time). as far as him being a qb at the next level he has all the tools to be successful at a big time university playing against the best of the best if he keeps improving the way he has these last 2 years. he has deceptive speed and is very hard to take down once he's running full speed. in goal line situations his team runs a lot of qb draws and he's very efficient at getting in.

reminds me a LOT of Ryan Mallet.

I've been thinking he heads to UF for a while now. His game actually compares favorably to a better Will Grier, plus Jim McElwain is a pro style coach himself. There isn't much competition outside of those two and he would most likely be the only QB in the class for them, or at the very least, the best. He goes there and redshirts Grier will be a redshirt junior and Harris a senior by the time he is just a redshirt freshman.

Then Guarantano's decision and Wallace going to OSU made it more likely (at least to me). I don't see him going to Maryland or Rutgers.

Hate to loose a Louisiana boy to a rival but good program , good coach.
Good luck to him for landing in the SEC. It seems that LSU has other options right now.
