Coach O spent 2 hours today at Notre Dame watching Shelvin practice in the rain. Putting in work!

The difference between Ed O and a Brick is astronomical. Make the LSU D-Line great again.

As I pointed out in another thread.

In Brick's last season LSU was 2nd to last in the SEC in team sacks (only 19 sacks)

In Orgeron's first season LSU was tied for 3rd most in the SEC in team sacks.. (34 sacks, only behind Alabama Florida in sacks) and that was with somewhat depth issues on the line.. Now he returns everyone and is starting to add his own elite recruits.

But the defense gave up more points, right? I'm sure that was the fault of Steele, right? I'm happy to have O for his recruiting, but the evidence suggests to me that he's an average position coach.

I know this post will get a bunch of downvotes, but when coach O leaves it will become the predominant viewpoint on here.

The evidence is that we lacked depth.

Just an extra little note on Shelvin, he's been a monster since arriving at ND. I recently made friends with coach's son and he said they often have to take Tyler out of practice because they cannot get an offensive flow going with him in. He's just too disruptive on the interior of that D Line.

In between practice stations, while the kids were moving, Coach O had some coaches from another high school that were observing practice, working on the sled teaching them some techniques.

Shelvin has looked like an absolute monster during the practices that I've watched.
