The sky isn’t falling for LSU, so far there have been no major defections, the fact is every year LSU loses on one or two commits but that hasn’t stopped Coach O from winning over some others and winning a title. Look for this class to finish strong, those top recruits waiting until February give LSU’s head coach time to tidy up a couple things. A blessing in disguise in that some wait and not sign elsewhere but instead sign with LSU.

Today has been far from a smashing success. We lost Koht and replaced him with a grade risk. We lost Jojo Earle as well.

Both to division rivals. And we have 1 OL, which is a position of desperate need.

It's not some unmitigated disaster either, but we really, REALLY need to get some OL on board or else we can't call this an elite class.

We will be fine at the end of the day, just have to make staff changes as soon as the Ole Miss game is over with, show these remaining kids that change is coming and go from there

What are you talking about? They lost out on Earle, koht, and probably going to lose raejson Davis. Maybe he can land Maason Smith. But if he doesn’t this class won’t even be in the top 10. Where is the addition to the trenches which is needed to win in the SEC? Coach O isn’t getting anything done.

We haven’t “lost” JoJo until he decommits or signs with another school.

How’s that OL haul looking?

You're being a bit too far on the positivity side, but you aren't wrong.

Recruiting isn't about who you lose, it's who you get.

For the short term, Strong is a better recruit than Koht.

It remains to be seen how everything else plays out, but we are replacing 4-stars with 4-stars. OL is the big variable that may not be addressed until later with transfers.

Agree we need another OL or two but we may have lost JoJO to an in state school. That is far from unusual. Koht hurt but we also flipped an in state WR who can play CB and the #1 JUCO LB, two position of bigger need. So it also hasn't been the epic failure a lot make it out to be.

If we don't meet all of our needs I'm sure they'll be on the lookout for JUCO / transfer portal help.

Anyone know if LSU has ever had success going that route?

We need to start recruiting jr's and seniors to stay, don't go waste your time in draft if u may not get drafted at all, even in the late rounds, come back and improve their stock, its one of the reasons we're in the position we're in today, lack of leadership

Flipping always occurs, we have such a bevy of WR/RB in our state that we literally don't have room for all of them.

It is all about keeping the positions of need in state, as long as Maason Smith stays home, this is a win for us. Tristan Leigh is icing on the cake.

This class has high probability to look very different (not as good) as it looked this time last week, how is O getting done on that basis?

Excellent point! We are replacing 4 stars with 4 stars!

He doesnt have to "decommit". He just has to sign somewhere else.

Right? It’s less about who you lose, and much more about whom you get. We lost a 4* and replaced him with another 4*. Of course, we still need some OL signees, but the this class is far from done. This class is looking mighty strong, though!

I consider koht to bama being a major defection. And Earle looking less and less likely to stick with us would be another major defection
