Both of his kids are evidently great athletes.

We caught up with Kyle Wickersham (son of former LSU QB Jeff Wickersham) a 2021 QB prospect from Jesuit (NOLA). Touched on:
- Recruitment: Nothing really. He’s 6’4” 220 and won the QB award at whatever camp that was
- His road to recovery from an injury: He’s heathy, tore labrum in his hip. Better than ever.
- Who his "Dream" school offer would be: LSU, “follow in my dads footsteps”

I love it.

And this "kid" still has two more years of high school?

He might be a center by the time he’s a senior

Jeff Wickersham was a very underrated college QB. I recall jokes about sending him to Central American countries because of his expertise in overthrowing receivers, but he was the QB for a few great Arnsparger teams. Those teams always underperformed in bowl games, but they were solid and professionally coached. With Kyle, I like the pedigree and he certainly looks the part at 6'4", 200 and love the attitude.

LSU needs to extend an offer yesterday to this kid.

Kid comes from a great LSU family and has a lot of potential, but let him start his first high school game before getting too far ahead of things. He had a serious injury that hopefully he can overcome.

You think it would be too much to ask for offensive tackle?

I didn't appreciate the extent of the injury. You're right about not extending the scollie yet. The staff should certainly begin the dialog, though, show interest, let them know they are part of the LSU "family", etc. I'm actually ok taking a chance on this kid as long as he sees significant time this year and shows the potential he likely has. Heck, recruit him as a LS and give him one of those schollies we seem to burn every single year.

I recall Wickersham being a streaky passer. Would love it if his son would play here. Certainly has the size.

Damn he looks a lot like his dad. I can remember when Jeff got his first start at LSU against #4 Florida in the swamp
