Chatman had an interview today stating LSU has recruited him as an OLB, but I guess you know everything

Holy shite you're right! I remember looking at it when he committed. He was the 333rd ranked recruit and now he is the 447th ranked recruit. What a load of BS. How could the guy fall 114 spots AFTER committing?

They're just getting around to really evaluating Chattman IMO (not that I agree with the ranking). They added his Hudl highlights today too.

Wow, that really just happened, I'm trying to debunk this and think of a real reason he dropped to a 3star..... any suggestions why a major university signing a guy dropped him 100+ spots in the rankings?

They changed it after that article was written. This kid will get his ranking over the summer when he goes to camps. Doesn't matter right now

Mingo was in the 205-210 range out of hs and had a bigger frame. Longer arms and longer legs. This kid is a box safety/olb in modern defenses against the spread. He's perfect for covering rbs and te's while spying mobile qbs. He may max out around 220, but his versatility will be the key. At 6"5 he has leverage to beat blocks even when outsized and he checks off the acceleration box big time. Any athlete that can reach top speed in two or three steps is an elite athlete. If anyone can find Chad Jones film from his freshman year against bama, you'll see what I mean. That guy was at full speed in two steps. Even ran down Mcfadden on a breakaway which is something Ive never seen. Best pure athlete I've ever seen in person I think. It used to be on YouTube under LSU annual bama qb sack attack I think. That boy took over the bama game in 07.

Obviously had he committed to Bama he would have been upgraded to 5 stars.

Exactly. Plus, there's no way an objective person watches Chattman's highlights and ranks him a four star. He doesn't hit hard, he tip-toes through traffic, and he doesn't look especially fast. The only thing I saw him do well was cover.
I have a lot of confidence in our coaches, though. If they are offering the guy this early they think he brings something to the table that isn't reflected in those highlights. I'm sure it will show in camps or during his senior season.

Ok, but how was he ranked a 4 star prior? Now that I think about it, it must be a service that just rated him (ESPN most likely) that brought his overall score down.

His speed is the main reason while he will play olb...he's probably a 4.6 guy
